6 ways to use LED flash light (iPhone and Android)

All modern smartphones have a camera with Flash light next to them to illuminate photographs taken in low light environments.
The flash of an Android smartphone or an iPhone 4 and 5 can also have different alternative functions in addition to the flash in the photos.
You can have an emergency light, a tool to make the morse code or even create a strobe light for a party.
Let's see in this article 6 possible uses of the LED flash on the smartphone, both Android and iPhone .
1) Torch
The rear flash of the mobile phone can be used as an emergency bulb or a torch.
This feature is a standard of Android phones that have always included the flashlight.
On iOS7 in an iPhone you can activate the flashlight at any time without unlocking the phone, from the Control Center of the lock screen.
You can also activate the flashlight on the iPhone by opening the camera app in video recording mode (without recording anything).
To have a customizable flashlight on Android you can install the popular Tiny Flashlight application which is among the most downloaded Android apps in the world for its versatility.
This application includes other tools to take advantage of the flash light of the smartphone camera including the morse code and the strobe light.

2) Create a bedroom lamp
If the flash light is not bright enough or in any case if it is not pleasant to illuminate an environment, you can create a bedroom lamp using the iPhone or the Samsung Galaxy S4 smarthpone (just to say an example Android phone).
To do this, just activate the flash, put the phone with the screen downwards and the light upwards and then place a bottle of water on it or put it next to it.
The liquid disperses the light, illuminating the space in a better way.
If desired, you can also fill the bottle with colored liquids to have different effects.
3) Use the flash as a notification of calls or SMS
On an iPhone you can use the flash light as a warning system for incoming calls and SMS.
The feature was designed for users with hearing impairments (in addition to vibration).
To activate the LED flash on iPhone go to Settings> General and scroll down in the accessibility menu.
On Android however there is no this function and you need to use an external application called Flash Notification .
4) Stroboscopic light
To use the iPhone with a strobe light like that of a disco, you can use an application called RoboStrobe that allows you to activate the flash and adjust the flashing speed.
On Android phones you can instead use the Torch app indicated in point 1.
As with the lamp, a transparent container full of water can be placed in front to extend the light.
5) Music show of light
On the iPhone, the RoboStrobe app itself has a feature that flashes the flash to the rhythm of a song, even if the music comes from an external device.
On Android for this function, you can try the Disco Light LED Torch app, very fun.
6) Use the Morse code
The iPhone application Morse Trasmitter allows you to translate words in Morse code and transmit it from the flash.
On Android you can instead use the Flashlight Torch (point 1 of the article) or Morse Torch to write a text and see it translated into morse code by the flash light of the mobile phone.
