Free audio and music recording studio with Ubuntu Studio

Musicians and sound engineers probably use the Mac Pro Tools program for professional digital recording.
However, if you want to learn a new job or if you want to use a free program, without spending money on a Mac, you can install the Linux distribution for artists on your laptop: Ubuntu Studio .
Ubuntu Studio is a customized version of Ubuntu geared for creative work: audio, video and graphics .
Like all Linux distributions, you can try Ubuntu Studio without installing it, create a bootable USB stick on boot with UnetBootin or burn the ISO image to a DVD.
If it then meets your needs, you can install it on your computer with the wizard.
Ubuntu Studio integrates all Open Source programs and tools, free and usable also for commercial reasons, to work with music, sounds and digital graphics.
Its main and special function is to function as an audio recording studio .
Among the programs included in the distribution are:
- JACK, to create an audio server and work on different sources attached to the computer and allow them to interact with each other.
Allows several audio applications to share the same interface.
- Ardor is similar to Logic and Pro Tools, a free professional recording studio on the Linux PC.
- Sequencer and Synthesizers .
- Rakarrack and Guitarix for the guitar.
- Audacity, the open source audio editing program mentioned several times in this blog for recording and editing audio and music on your computer.
There are also, pre-installed in the system, digital graphics programs such as Blender, InkScape, Gimp and MyPaint.
Video editing programs like OpenShot, open source programs for photography (Dark Table) and Libre Office as Office suite.
Overall Ubuntu Studio collects together the main programs for digital artists, not easy to learn, but that professionals know very well how to use.
Much simpler and more fun are the virtual tools and mixers for creating music online
