We all use an online email service, a webmail, to get an email address to send and receive messages, such as Outlook.com, Gmail, Yahoo Mail, Libero Mail etc. When using an online service to receive emails, you can download messages to your PC using an email program such as Microsoft Outlook, Thunderbird or other clients to read your PC's email.
These programs work as email management tools, to receive messages, write them, read them and organize your address book.
Not everyone, however, uses email programs, because it is often preferable to stay with webmail, available via browser from any computer used and in some cases better than any program, just think of how many functions are available on the Gmail site.
Both those who use only Webmail and those who use e-mail programs, if they want to create a backup copy of the emails on the computer so that they can be saved in an archive to be kept, perhaps to then clean up the inbox and delete all older messages or to recover space in the webmail if the available space is running out, you can use a special program, unique and also very popular (also because it is free) to download the Mail on PC .
The program to be used to back up each account, one of the best and also easy to find for free is MailStore Home, which has reached version 11 this year.
After downloading and installing it, Mailstore opens a command interface to download and store emails from other mail clients or online services on the PC .
You can then backup and archive the emails already downloaded with Outlook, Thunderbird, Windows Live Mail or others.
Similarly, you can archive and download mail from online or webmail services such as Gmail, Yahoo Mail, Outlook.com and others to your PC.
Using Mailstore Home to download messages from a mail server (from a webmail like Gmail) is really simple.
You just have to go to the function to archive mail in the left column of the program, then enter the Email Account section and enter the email address used.
You can then enter the login password and MailStore should automatically be able to connect and download mail.
If it fails, you can manually enter the connection coordinates:
- type of server, if POP3, IMAP or Exchange;
- Name of the IMAP or POP3 server address server.
In a matter of minutes, Mailstore imports incoming mail messages and creates a copy of them on your computer.
To create an archive copy from an e-mail client such as Microsoft Outlook, Windows Mail, Windows Live Mail, Mozilla Thunderbird and Mozilla SeaMonkey, you must instead select the profile used by choosing the client used.
Under the Saved Profiles section, press on the added profile, go to the properties and choose the message folders to be archived.
After clicking on Finish, you can import the emails into MailStore.
The process of saving and transferring messages is fast and punctual, multiple copies of entire e-mail boxes can be made and there will be no technical difficulties of any kind.
Messages archived in MailStore Home can be exported and restored to your favorite mail client.
To export the copy of the Email to another account or to an email client, just press the Export E-mail button and select where to export the messages.
In this case, to transfer the emails to another webmail account, you need to set up the SMTP-SSL server, whose address is always found in this table.
One of the strengths of Mailstore is the search function, to be able to find each message by writing a word contained in the subject, in the body of the message, in the contents of the attachments, the sender, the recipient, the names of the attached files and by date storage.
The new version of MailStore Home includes several improvements and various corrections compared to previous versions, with support for the TLS 1.1 and TLS 1.2 security protocols, so as to directly back up POP3 or IMAP accounts with a secure connection.
Another security-related improvement is that the developers manage the encryption key files in the new version.
MailStore Home 11.0 stores recovery records in separate containers so that corrupt or damaged databases can be rebuilt and restored, without having to export and re-archive messages after upgrading to the new version.

Then create a new Gmail account, open the settings from the link at the top right and open the Accounts and settings tab.
From this tab you can configure the import of messages and contacts from another mail account, any one also another Gmail, and ask Gmail to download the mail of the other account regularly, so as to always have a double copy of the messages .
The settings that Gmail asks are: the address of the webmail mail account to be imported, the password and the server address .
