Google Fit for Android and iPhone, the app with everyday movement targets

Among the many apps in the Google universe, there is one dedicated to health called Google Fit, which over time has become a minimal, light and essential tool to help people monitor fitness and physical training goals .
The app is quite simple, it is not intended to replace the Best Apps for training, sports, running and fitness (such as Runkeeper or Runtastic), but only to give minimum movement objectives to be reached every day, walking, running or doing physical activity, more similar to what Apple Health can do on iPhone. It is therefore not an app to train or stay fit, but only to guarantee a decent state of health .
The Google Fit application can be installed on any Android smartphone from the Google Play Store and, from 2019, it has also become available for iPhone to download for free from the Apple Store .
The app, which initially was born as a step counter, has now become a physical movement monitoring tool dedicated not so much for athletes, but rather to help improve the health of those who do not play sports and the most sedentary that move little and, therefore, may be at risk of ill health.
Google Fit, while running in the background in the mobile phone, monitors all movements made during the day, walking, running and cycling . At the first start, a daily goal is set immediately in the form of minutes of movement and cardio points . The preset movement and physical activity goals (which can be changed) are based on the recommendations of the American Heart Association and the World Health Organization. Cardio points are earned when walking fast and the goal requires you to walk fast or run at least 30 minutes every day, for 5 days a week (so, as you can see from my image today, better than I am going to move).
All you need to do to use Google Fit is to install the application on your phone, connect it to your Google account and nothing else. Google Fit uses smartphone sensors to monitor daily activities, steps and minutes on the go. You can then open the application at the end of the day to see how far you have walked and how much we should have moved to meet the minimum goal of each day . In the diary section you can then see the summary of the movement and cardio points accumulated in the previous days, to check if we are moving enough or if we are too still, putting health at risk.
On both Android and iPhone, Google Fit can also receive data from other connected apps such as Sleep Cycle, Nike Run Club, Headspace and many others, to have more data such as counting steps, calories consumed and kilometers traveled.
The Google Fit application, as well as a useful tool, allows you to connect other devices to your smartphone and take advantage of smartwatch watches with Google Wear or an Apple Watch watch while also keeping training sessions recorded.
