PrimeOS is Android for PC (to be tested on a USB stick)

Android was never designed for PCs, because it was never optimized to work with mouse and keyboard, but only with the touch on the touchscreen. Despite various limitations, however, being Android an open source system, there have been numerous attempts to bring the most popular operating system to mobile phones and tablets on computers.
One of these is the version project to install the Android X86 version for PC, which has evolved as a complete operating system to replace Windows and which has been taken as the basis for creating even more optimized systems.
Based on Android X86, an entirely new operating system called PrimeOS has been released which has optimized the latest version of Android and made it compatible and well usable even on a computer, be it Windows or Mac .

PrimeOS, which can be considered the evolution and continuation of the now closed Remix OS project, is a light and free system that can be installed on a USB stick (without therefore replacing Windows or OSX) to use the computer with Android version " Live ". It is currently based on Android 7 Nougat, but, as mentioned above, optimized with deep changes that make it easily usable on a PC or Mac. In addition to the fact that it is Android, the best feature of PrimeOS is its lightness, so much that it can be used effectively even on a very old computer that with Windows would be very slow.
The general interface of PrimeOS is very clean and clear, which really looks like a system made for the computer, with a normal taskbar, resizable app windows, multi-window mode, Start menu and then typical Android screens such as settings, the notification panel, and so on. Within Prime OS you will find many useful apps already installed such as Microsoft Office, Google Chrome, an email program, Facebook, Twitter, Evernote and many others. Most importantly, you can download other Android apps and games from the Google Play Store, as you would do on your smartphone or tablet, without limitations. For games, there are some dedicated features like the key mapping tool for mouse and keyboard support to play and pre-mapping of popular games like PUBG.
To use Prime OS with the mouse you just have to get used to using the left button as if it were your finger on the screen and the right button to open the menus and perform operations. In the Start menu, where the applications are listed, you can find all the quick commands such as those to restart or shut down the computer. The File Manager makes file management seem very similar to that of Windows, with an orderly and clean interface, to move files from one folder to another. In the taskbar there is the notification area with the volume, network, clock icons, as is also the case in Windows and Mac OS. Traditional PC key shortcuts also work, such as Ctrl + N to create a new document, Ctrl + S to save, Alt + F4 to close a window, Alt + Tab to switch from one program to another.
Those interested in trying it out, only need to download Prime OS for PC which is available in 3 versions.
PrimeOS Classic 32 bit is for older PCs from 2011
PrimeOS Mainline 64 bit for newer PCs released after 2014.
PrimeOS Standard 64 bit for PC with processor released after 2011, before 2014.
To install PrimeOS, save the installation file, extract the file from the ZIP archive, open the included tool to proceed with the installation in a USB stick and follow the guided procedure.
Then restart the computer, change the boot order (by pressing the F12 key on a PC or the Option key on a Mac) by setting the USB stick as the main disk and Android will load.
Thanks to this installation system there are no contraindications in making a test and, above all, PrimeOS can be kept as a portable operating system, usable on any other computer . Remember that it would be better, for good performance, to install the system on a new USB 3.0 type pen that has at least 8 GB of space.
When starting Android with Prime OS you will have to choose between Guest mode and Resident mode .
In Guest mode, no changes are saved and, each time, it returns as new. In Resident mode, on the other hand, an account is created and any changes to the settings and files are saved, as if it were the main operating system.
Alternatively, there is also the very similar Phoenix OS system, which is updated regularly.
Another alternative to install Android on PC is the BlissOS system, updated to Android 9.
