Byte app to shoot 6-second videos with loop-mounted shots

Vine was a popular free application developed by Twitter that became very popular this year for its ability to take and share videos of six seconds or so . Vine's success was then brutally stopped by Twitter (who owned it), closing and withdrawing the app. Fortunately, today, the creator of Vine himself has released a very similar, practically identical, new application that reports the possibility of creating those 6-second videos that Vine liked so much. This is Byte, an app for iPhone and Android, which aims to become a competitor of TikTok.
It seems like a few 6 seconds, but in reality they are ideal for showing what is happening around us, more than a photo, less than a video. Six or seven seconds become enough to create a small video of shots that is looped continuously. The service is available for iPhone, Android and Windows Phone and in this article we see how it is used and what can be done with Byte
After installing Byte on your mobile phone, you can register using a Google account and giving yourself a name. The main Byte page shows videos publicly shared by other users. You will notice that each video is played automatically, like photos in motion. From the main interface you can explore popular videos and watch videos labeled in various common categories such as tags, scary videos, music, sports, cats, family, food and others. If you follow users in Byte their videos will appear in the activity flow
To shoot a new video you have to touch the camera icon at the bottom. Once shooting is open, to record you have to touch the screen, without using any record button. You will notice that the video is recorded only when you touch the image and that you stop recording when you detach your finger. Vine's camera automatically focuses on the subject and it is best to wait a second or two before recording or shooting the frame when changing the frame.
At the top there is a green progress bar to indicate the amount of recorded video and the remaining time. If you want to use the front camera of your mobile phone, touch the circles icon in the bottom right.
At the bottom there are also other buttons : the one to make the grid appear, the one in the center to include the geographical position to the video, the ghost to create a transition effect between different recordings of the same video and the one to save the Video Byte before 6 seconds.
The ghost button mode is perfect for linking several recordings together, framing a 1 second scene first, then another two scene and maybe another one recording the last 3 seconds. Since the recording starts and stops by touching the screen, you can also make a loop video made of single frames, perhaps taken on different days and in different places. The video made, completed the 6 and a half seconds, can be seen in preview mode. You can also make a video of less than 6 seconds, but no longer. Some effects such as the Ghost can be added to the video and it is also possible to upload videos already recorded by the camera and saved in the phone memory.
In the end, it is not possible to change the length of the video or add filters or titles to them (as the Instagram similar app does) and it is not possible to import video clips from the camera of the iPhone or Android smartphone.
To publish a video just press the arrow at the top right and then touch the Post button. Alternatively, you can also save it in the phone gallery. On the screen you can choose a label and share it on Byte (also choosing the channel where to put it). The videos shared on Byte are public by default and can be viewed by anyone who uses the service.
You cannot choose to keep Byte videos private . The settings can be found by pressing the button with three dots in the personal profile card. You can choose the video quality and a few other options. The settings chosen here are applied as defaults for new videos published in the future.
Byte is one of the best solutions to create funny or curious little videos to share with friends on social networks. Byte videos can also be incorporated into a web page, they can be used to create a Stop motion video, a mini tutorial, to create a holiday video or to compose the changes day by day, recording one second at a time.
Similar to Byte there are other Android and iPhone apps to create and share videos on Facebook, Youtube and Twitter as well as Instagram to shoot videos and edit them with cinema filters and TikTok.
