Remotely access Android and iPhone smartphones for assistance

Teamviewer has launched a new application for Android phones and iPhones that allows you to receive remote support from a technician or, more likely, a more experienced friend.
In practice you can make sure that another person, from his computer and from his home, can control the operation of the Android system remotely to correct some basic problems such as, for example, limited data memory or problems in use of applications that cause slow performance.
The nice thing is that you can also transfer files quickly from your mobile phone to your computer and vice versa.

The app is called Teamviewer QuickSupport, it can be downloaded for free for Android and for iPhone and is used to open remote access from another location.
This access is secure, encrypted, very limited on what can be done and authorized every time.
The application works on all Android smartphones and on all iPhones, including Samsung Galaxy, LG, Huawei, LG, HTC etc.
To access remotely it is necessary to use the complete Teamviewer connection program for Windows and Mac and to indicate the ID number that the Quick Support application will indicate on the mobile phone screen at every start.
From the phone it will be necessary to authorize remote access every time.
In the screen that appears on the computer you can see the status of the phone: battery level, memory, RAM, CPU and all the basic information, and you can perform certain operations:
- See the list of installed applications and their size with the possibility to uninstall them remotely.
- See the list of active processes and the RAM memory they occupy.
- Wifi settings
- The system log that lists everything that happens on the phone
You cannot see the live screen remotely, but you can make a capture of the current screen, which will be sent to the computer by those who use the mobile phone.
At the top left there is also the button for bidirectional file transfer, from PC to smartphone or vice versa.
Finally, it is also possible to chat with those who are watching our smartphone remotely to communicate information or receive instructions.
Note that in the iPhone version of Teamviewer QuickSupport it is possible to broadcast live what you do on the iPhone using the screen recording function included in iOS 11 and later versions.
The application is simple and serves the purpose of basic and non-intrusive remote assistance of a person's privacy.
However, it is not an app to control your mobile phone using your computer (for this purpose, you can manage your Android smartphone from the web browser with Airdroid or the Mobizen app)
