Take spherical photos with iPhone and Android

Google has released the new Street View application for iPhone and Android that allows you to take spherical photographs, or three-dimensional panoramas.
In practice it is the same function present in the Google Camera app for Android and is used to take photos similar to those of Google Street View, with the overview of a place at 360 degrees.
The application is designed to be used outdoors so that users can take photos of places they visit and then upload them to Google Maps and share them with the world.
The best photos, in fact, can become publicly visible to anyone who uses Google Maps.
The application, which only works on iPhone 4S and later models, offers a short tutorial on how to use it and recommends taking pictures outdoors first and doing some practice before using it indoors.
To use the Photosphere Camera on the iPhone in the right way, the general indications for using the same function on Android remain valid.
As written in the guide to the Google Camera app and Photosphere and Photosphere on Android, the important thing is to hold the smartphone still and move the body to make the shots that will then be merged together into a single image.
The spherical photo must be taken on at least three lines, and the application guides you to take the photos in the right places showing circles to frame on the screen.
The first frame is captured by centering the ring around the circle and this operation is repeated going left and right, up and down.
You can undo the last shot made by tapping the return button.
Once you have finished framing all the space around, tap the checkmark button to save.
The application processes the various frames and saves them in a photo that is also uploaded to Google Maps.
Viewing a photo in Photosphere is very special and you can look at the whole anoramic image from different directions as if you were actually in that place.
From the app settings, you can set the photo resolution, choose to automatically add a geo tag, save a copy of the photo and choose to upload the photo only if you are connected to a WiFi network.
The best spherical photos that are published on Google Maps are visible online on the Views site.
