Transform uppercase or lowercase text into Word and LibreOffice

When writing on the computer it can happen to be wrong and to write words in lower case rather than upper case or vice versa.
Instead of rewriting phrases and words, using Microsoft Word or its free counterpart LibreOffice, you can easily turn words written in lowercase to uppercase or return uppercase words to lowercase .
With Word this option is really trivial: select the text you want to edit, go to the menu of the Home tab and click on the Aa button which is the one to transform lower case to upper case.
From the Aa menu there are 5 options available:
- All capital letters.
- All lowercase letters.
- Only uppercase initial letters.
- Invert uppercase and lowercase characters.
To do this first, you can simply select a text and press the Shift-F3 key combination multiple times to choose how to transform the text.
With LibreOffice Writer, the most used alternative program to Word in the world because it is also free for business use, the way to convert lowercase letters to uppercase and vice versa is still simple, although a little less obvious.
There are two ways in LibreOffice Writer to use the case-sensitive option.
The first method changes only the selected text, without changing the style of the text and is therefore the one to be used more often.
The conversion button is located on the toolbar, under Format> Text .
You will see here the options Upper case, Lower case or invert upper case to lower case and vice versa.
Only the selected text is transformed.
The second method allows you to change not only uppercase and lowercase letters, but also the character formatting.
Then go to the Format menu and press Character .
In the window that opens, go to the Character Effects tab to find different options, including a drop-down menu of Effects that can be used to transform text in upper case, lower case or using the title effect or the "small caps " effect.
Below you can see a preview of how the text will look with the chosen effects.
While with the first method only the selected text is changed, changing these Font options, all the text typed subsequently, will be written with the chosen effect, therefore all in upper case if the upper case effect has been selected.
Also in LibreOffice, however, the shortcut key Shift-F3 works to quickly convert the selected text to upper or lower case.
