When using the Google Maps navigator on Android, the most boring thing is finding a way: Get in the car ready to go and you have to waste time looking for the destination on the map before going, also making sure you have an active internet connection ( if Google Maps offline maps have not been downloaded).
A function that I have always found convenient to use Google Maps and that solves the problem of having to search for addresses from your mobile phone, is to be able to search the Google Maps site from a PC and send the address directly to the phone, so you can only tap the screen to start browsing when you are leaving.
If we are at home or in the office, then, we can prepare the route from the computer with the convenience of the large screen and keyboard, and then send all the destinations provided to the application on an Android smartphone or iPhone in order to open the navigator already set and find on the mobile phone the searches of addresses made by the computer .
You can therefore plan a trip from home in full and synchronize the search for maps on all the devices used .
Then search for a place or a street on the Google Maps website from your computer, and in the box under the search box, press the Send to phone button and choose the device that is to receive it.
On your smartphone you will receive a notification only to open to find the place on the map and see the directions.
Sending an address to the phone can also be received via SMS (free of charge) or via Email.
While on Android there is no configuration to be done for this functionality, on iPhone, you have to make sure, in the Google Maps settings, that the option of notifications sent from Maps on Desktop is active, i.e. those from the site when opened from a PC.
In addition to the send to phone function, in Google Maps the addresses searched on the computer will also be visible on the Google Maps application for Android and, vice versa, and also the searches made on the phone will be visible on the computer browser.
To see the history of Google Maps, simply press on the menu and then search for a place to see previous searches.
The searches of places and streets made in Google Maps from any device and from the maps.google.it website, if you always use the same Google account, are synchronized .
From the main menu of the application (button with three lines on both Android and IPhone and on the site), you can also view the entire history of movements and places we have been to, and also the section of " your places ", which includes places saved as favorites.
In your places you can also find places shared with other people and scheduled trips, automatically extracted from Gmail emails and from the Google calendar.
For example, if there is a trip planned, the directions for the airport and the one for the booked hotel will be saved here.
The Visitors section is instead the chronology of the places reached through the Google navigator.
Note that it is possible, in the section of your labeled places, to save special places such as the " home " and " work " addresses, so that you can easily find them from the search bar and always know how much traffic there is to get there at home.
