In these hours Whatsapp has retraced its steps and has restored, in the new updated version of the application, the old state with text . The textual state did not seem, in fact, a function so used by people and from what we can see by scrolling through the list of contacts, few change it often if ever.
After, however, Whatsapp removed it, there were many protests that forced the company to go back and put it back in its place, although as we will see a little hidden and with another name.
The old textual state of Whatsapp is back, for now, only on the Android app even if it is only a matter of time before it will be reactivated also on the version for iPhone and other platforms.
After the last update of Whatsapp, by touching the + key to write a new message and open the contact list, you can then read the textual status under each name, if it has been set and has not been disabled.
Those who have never changed it in their life will find the default word " Ciao! I'm using Whatsapp ", in Italian or in English " Hey There! I am using Whatsapp ".
From the main interface you can touch the Status tab to update the new Status on Whatsapp, the one that imitates Snapchat stories and Facebook stories, the one with photos and videos that are visible only for 24 hours, the one that on Whatsapp use practically nobody.
To go and edit the text of the old state of Whatsapp, you must instead tap the button with three dots in the upper right corner, open the Settings and then tap on our name at the top.
From the personal card of the Whatsapp profile, made only by Name and telephone number, the Info field appears which would be the old state of Whatsapp .
You can then write whatever you want in 140 characters or choose one of the predefined states, such as busy, at the cinema, at work, etc.
Ideally, this field of information or status is used to communicate to others whether or not we are available to chat and text or if we are busy and cannot respond immediately.
Note that in the Settings> Account> Privacy section it is possible to define the visibility of the Info, i.e. of this status with text, in order to make it visible only to friends, to everyone or to deactivate it and not make it visible at all.
In the same Privacy screen it is also possible to decide the visibility of the State, which is instead intended as the one with photos or videos.
