Better a Netbook or a tablet as a laptop?

The current trend of the consumer market of laptops is pushing consumers towards tablets or touchscreen tablets of which the iPad is today the most famous interpreter.
The growth of tablets brings a contraction in the netbook market, that is, small, compact laptops .
Netbooks are different from normal laptops because they are smaller in size and are therefore more portable and lighter, with the screen size ranging from 9 to 11 inches.
Just to meet this growing audience, Microsoft is developing a Windows 8 system optimized for tablets and also Google continues to push on its Android which is now not only an operating system for smartphones but can also be used on normal computers.
Intel is pushing the production of processors for tablets trying to compete with ARM which currently produces the best processors for mobile devices.
So, today's question is: " tablets or netwbooks are better"> To answer this question, you need to understand what needs these two types of computers cover.
To begin with, netbooks are not dying, it is simply the word netbook that has gone out of style.
Small laptops today are called by manufacturers with names like Ultrabooks or simply Minicomputers and who knows what they will be called in the future.
Staying impartial on the issue, let's see why a mini pc is better than a tablet and, conversely, why you should prefer an iPad or a tablet of another type compared to the classic compact laptop with keyboard.
1) Netbooks are cheaper, cost less and last longer .
A laptop can cost from 300 to 600 Euros which is the price of the iPad.
On a netbook you can install Windows or Linux and you can write, they are more resistant and, even if out of fashion, they can always be updated to keep up with the times.
Every year, the new version of iPad, Samsung Galaxy or other models comes out that make the current one old and almost obsolete that maybe it is no longer possible to update because it has gone out of production (for example, those who had the iPad 1 could now suffer a complex of inferiority compared to the iPad 2 while those who had bought an Android tablet a year ago may be unable to update the system to the new version).
Vice versa, in netbooks with Windows or, better yet, with Linux Ubuntu (you can now also install Android on a netbook) can always be updated, free (if Linux) for a fee (if Windows) without problems.
2) Touchscreen tablets have a better screen than netbooks so they are more suitable for entertainment, watching movies, for viewing and editing photos, for playing games.
If you just want a computer to go to Facebook, Twitter and to watch movies, the tablet is definitely the best choice.
You can sit on the sofa or in bed, slide your finger on the screen and surf the internet or interact with the various applications.
So if you are an internet and application consumer, the tablet wins but if you want to create something, you need a computer.
The touchscreen keyboard is terrible if you work by typing.
3) From what was said in the previous point, as the screen is better, the graphic quality is also of higher quality (unless you buy a 1000 Euro laptop) so let's say that a tablet is also perfect for reading .
But if you don't like the idea of reading electronic books on a screen, this point for tablets is lost.
4) Many netbooks are equipped with the Intel Atom processor which is not the best while the tablets are and will be equipped with a much better and modern ARM processor.
This technical difference leads the tablets to be more performing than the netbooks which, like the classic computers, can become slower and more cumbersome.
This is definitely a point in favor of portable touchscreen devices.
5) On a tablet without a keyboard it is difficult to work on documents, term papers or table calculations or any work as a writer.
Depending on the work you do, a tablet can be perfect for showing customers projects or slides, but a computer is needed to write and create.
Certainly it can be said that if you already have a normal desktop PC and do not plan to work outside the office or away from home if not to reply to emails or chat, then a tablet becomes more convenient.
In conclusion, it cannot be said that mini laptops are dying.
Even if they are out of date today, netbooks are perfect for work and, for lightness and less space, they are also more portable than 14 or 15-inch notebooks.
The tablets are easy to handle, offer great performance, are perfect for surfing the internet, writing on Facebook and playing games but are not suitable for work in the strict sense of the word.
