Enable and disable WiFi and data automatically on Android

Since to connect to the internet with an Android mobile phone or tablet, it is always advisable to look for a free WiFi connection or to use the one at home, it is important to manage the reception of wireless networks on your device .
Often the Wi-Fi connection is "free", perhaps offered to customers of a particular commercial chain, or by the city administration or even by telecommunications companies.
Managing the Wi-Fi connection on an Android tablet is quite simple and it is a matter of a touch to activate or deactivate the reception of the wireless network signal.
However, as for many other things, also the Android Wifi connection can be improved with some free applications downloadable from Google Play that allow you to automatically enable or disable the wifi and internet connection
1) To manage network connections, an application like Clever Connectivity is useful because it allows you to auto-activate or deactivate the Internet connection when the screen is off .
What the application does is a prior check to detect if there is any operation (which requires internet access) running in the background, keeping the internet connection until the operation is completed. You can also set a timer within which to disable the internet connection when the screen is off and you can configure automatic activation of the wifi receiver or data connection, at intervals, to check e-mails, incoming Whatsapp messages, Facebook or other notifications. Then install CleverConnectivity from the Play Store, open the application, and scroll through the various options. The former only serve to give permission to manage the 3G and Wi-Fi connection when the screen is turned off. Scrolling through the list, you can configure if you want automatic synchronization at regular intervals and if you want to turn off the WiFi completely when no known network is detected nearby.
You can also configure the hours of sleep, to disable the Internet connection completely.
The last three options on the list are the most important part of CleverConnectivity:
- Time ON, the time in which the Internet connection must remain active after the screen is turned off;
- Time OFF, after how long the Internet connection is turned off.
- Check intervals, every how many seconds to check if the data connection is used by exchanging data.
So basically, Clever Connectivity works like this: When the screen is turned off, the internet connection is kept active for a certain time according to the "Time On" setting. After that time, it is checked if the connection is used for X seconds; otherwise, connectivity is deactivated after the time interval defined in "Time OFF". The cycle will repeat every time the screen turns back on. As a setting, I would recommend setting the "Time Off" to 15-20 minutes, the "Time On" 1 minute and the Check Interval to 5 seconds. CleverConnectivity works in the background only when the screen is turned off and uses a minimal amount of space, CPU and resources.
2) Leandroid is an app to automate the activation and deactivation of the mobile network and wifi connection, based on the time, based on the detected wifi or if the screen is off or on. The app also works very well to disable the data connection (on Android Lollipop requires root permissions)
3) WiFi-o-Matic allows you to create rules to activate and deactivate the wifi connection automatically, based on where you are (without the need to activate GPS) or based on the time or other criteria. In addition to this it is also able to control
4) Power WiFi is a simple app that automatically activates the wifi connection when the Android tablet or mobile phone is charging and deactivates it when it is disconnected from the charge.
5) WiFi Auto-Off enables WiFi when the device is unlocked, deactivates it when the screen is turned off for at least 10 minutes or when the phone or tablet is not connected to any network for at least 1 minute. These intervals can also be changed.
6) Wireless Minder is a small application that remains in the background to disable connections when not needed, automatically. Wireless Minder disables wifi when there are no nearby hotspots to connect to in order to save battery power. If then the Wifi is attached, this app disables the 3G data connection.
7) Wifi Auto is a great application because it allows you to manage the activation and deactivation of the wifi receiver based on where you are . By following the configuration wizard, you can specify a connection timeout and auto-connection on specific detected wireless hotspots. you can also automatically activate the wifi connection if that data is too weak.
8) App to automate cell phone unlocking when connected to a WiFi 0 network
9) Wifi Manager works in a similar way and is an application that automatically disables the wireless connection when out of range, when you are away from the network and no longer takes.
With this app you can make sure that Android is connected to the best Wifi network available at all times
10) WiFi Scheduler allows you to manage when the Android tablet or smartphone must connect to Wi-Fi automatically . You can then plan your internet connections at set times.
11) WiFi Auto On Off is a simple app that activates or deactivates the wifi based on the time.
These apps can be used to manage data connections and, above all, wifi connections, automatically and dynamically, to keep your mobile phone or tablet connected when it has to and disconnected when you do not need to have internet active, in order to also save battery and do not waste it unnecessarily.
