Transfer data from one Android mobile phone to another automatically

If you buy a new phone and you have to transfer all the data from the old one or you want to make sure that a friend's Android phone has some files, appropriately selected by us, in a completely automatic way (without having to manually share each time), we can take advantage of cloud synchronization systems or apps to be able to transfer data from one Android phone to another, so as to avoid forgetting or to be with an unusable phone without having made a copy of the files on the new phone.
In this guide I will show you both the integrated systems within each Android smartphone and some apps that can perform the transfer of data automatically, even on specific phone manufacturers.

1) Google Drive
The easiest way to keep files and folders in sync between two Android devices is to take advantage of Google Drive, already integrated in many Android firmware but downloadable (or upgradeable) using the link here -> Google Drive .

Once Google Drive is installed and the devices with the same Google account are associated (obviously device in our possession), we open the app and click on the lower right button on the + shaped button, so we can select the folder and the files to be synchronized with the cloud.
Obviously in order to keep the folders updated we will have to open the folder or files every time and synchronize it on the cloud, not the maximum comfort (we can solve it by reading the rest of the guide).
If instead we want to share files or folders with friends or relatives, we can take advantage of the Google Drive sharing system.
Let's tap on the file or folder to share (by holding down or using the three dots on the side of each element), then enable the item Sharing via link .
As soon as the button is active we can send the link provided to anyone we want via chat or email.
We can also directly add people who can access the file and folders using the Add People button and using the contact name, email address or nickname of the user to be added.
2) Autosync Google Drive
For automatic synchronization of folders on Drive we can use Autosync Google Drive, available for free download here -> Autosync Google Drive .

Once installed and logged in with the same Google account used on Drive, we can choose any folder on the smartphone and keep it synchronized on the cloud, so that any changes are immediately seen and added.
Obviously we will have to install the same app also on the Android device that must receive the changes, so as to always have them synchronized.
3) Samsung Smart Switch Mobile
If we own the latest generation Samsung smartphones we can also use the Samsung Smart Switch Mobile app; this app is integrated into the operating system (if it is not present, try updating the system), but it is still downloadable for any Samsung using the link present here -> Samsung Smart Switch Mobile .

Launched the app on both Samsung devices, we can take advantage of WiFi Direct or the specific USB cable to connect the devices and thus exchange images, SMS, contacts, music, videos and anything else in a simple and immediate way.
4) Huawei Share
If, on the other hand, we have Huawei smartphones, we can take advantage of the Huawei Share function, integrated in the latest versions of the EMUI 8.1 operating system (or higher).

The service uses SMB connections to exchange files with nearby Huawei devices or with PCs and Macs, since the protocol is also present in operating systems for deskop PCs and notebooks.
Just start the search for compatible devices, confirm where necessary and choose which files to send between music, videos, images and folders of documents.
5) Drop me
Xiaomi also has a file transfer service between devices in the same house: it is called Mi Drop and we can find it both integrated into the system and downloadable from the Play Store from here -> Mi Drop .

Through an intuitive interface we can connect two Xiaomi devices and exchange any type of file (images, videos, music, documents etc.) without even using the Internet connection, since WiFi Direct is used for the purpose.
5) Resilio Sync
Another excellent app to synchronize folders and files on our devices is Resilio Sync, available for download for Android from here -> Resilio Sync .

With this app we will be able to select any type of file present on the smartphone (images, documents, videos, music, books and compressed files) and send them to another device, through an active synchronization system.
Whenever we make a change to the files or folders all the changes will also reach the other device, so as to always have them synchronized.
Great to keep two different phones with the same files or to quickly exchange files and folders with a friend without even having to say anything (just be connected to the Internet to always have all the synchronizations).
6) IDrive Online Backup
Another tool that we can use to synchronize our data via the cloud is IDrive Online Backup, downloadable for free from here -> IDrive Online Backup .

This service uses a very advanced encryption system to protect the data stored online, allows you to synchronize some elements of our smartphone completely automatically, allows you to access and restore the elements on another phone in a simple and fast way and, very importantly, it allows you to add new people to the cloud, so as to create a shared space where you can share the most important information.
7) CloneIT is used to clone one Android smartphone to another, as if you were cloning the disk of one computer in another PC.
CLONEit is a completely free app, it works via direct connection, without cables and without existing wifi networks and can copy anything from one device to another without effort.
To use the application, CLONEit must be downloaded and installed on both Android devices, both the source and the destination.
Once the app is installed on the sender, before starting the transfer, it is necessary to make some configurations.
First you need to activate the possibility, on the target smartphone, to install applications from unknown sources .
To do this, go to Settings> Applications or Settings> Security .
Now open the application on both devices and touch the sender and recipient buttons respectively.
On the phone that acts as a source, a hotspot is started automatically to which the receiver will try to connect directly.
Once connected, touch the phone icon on CloneIT to start the transfer.
In the wizard you are asked to select what to transfer: app, SMS, address book, call log, photos, music, videos and settings .
You can also choose to copy everything, making perfect cloning.
In case of problems or if you prefer to transfer data manually, keep in mind that:
- the address book automatically synchronizes with the Google account.
- the downloaded and installed apps are stored in the Play Store so they can be found in the list of My Apps .
- Photos can be saved online on Google Photos.
- Music can be synchronized with Google Play Music
- To transfer SMS you can use an SMS Message Backup app like G Cloud or MySMS.
