What to do if an Amazon parcel does not arrive or is missing

Amazon is the largest online store in the world which, unlike other e-commerce, manages every phase of the sale, including shipping. The only problem with online purchases and therefore also with Amazon, is that the parcels with the purchased products inside travel to Italy or Europe on board various means (planes, trains, TIRs etc.) and, during the route, can be lost in various ways, especially if couriers from outside Amazon are used (for example SDA, BRT or GLS). Usually, if there is a delay in shipping or delivery (very likely around December, coinciding with the holiday season), Amazon will notify you by email of the delay on the day the delivery was scheduled, which could shift by 1 or 2 days (even if we are Amazon Prime users). If the delay in delivery exceeds 5 working days (we always exclude Saturdays and Sundays), we follow the next steps to try to trace the package and inform Amazon.
NOTE : some third-party sellers set longer delivery times (even longer than 15 days), plus pre-order purchases will generate a tracking code only after the actual availability of the object.

Monitor the tracking code

If the Amazon tracking system is not clear and we want to check the shipment on another site, we retrieve the tracking code from the Track my parcel menu seen previously and by marking the code present next to the Shipment number .

Once recovered this code, we can insert it on the 17TRACK site, which offers automatic tracking of all shipments in progress around the world.

Just enter the code or codes in the text field in the center of the page and click Track ; the courier will be automatically identified and we will be able to access the tracking information. The service can also be used on smartphones and tablets, by downloading the respective app for Android and iOS. Alternatively we can track our parcels on Amazon using one of the services and apps indicated in our App guide to track shipments from Amazon, Poste, SDA, BRT and others .
NOTE : parcels shipped with Amazon Logistics (i.e. with Amazon's direct couriers), the only way to track parcels is from the Amazon website.

Contact Amazon Support

After waiting for 5 days for delivery, if the tracking system does not show any information on the status of the shipment, the time has come to open the Amazon support service page. It will show the still active order in the foreground (we can change it using the Choose different order button): to receive the right assistance, just scroll down the page, open the drop-down menu under the section Tell us more about your problem and select the options Where is my order and Order shipped - late delivery (or Check order status ).

We will be offered suggestions to be able to trace our parcel (useless since we have already done all the checks previously); to request actual assistance, scroll down the page until you find the section How would you like to contact us ">
To illustrate the problem and receive assistance, simply click on Telephone and indicate the telephone number where we want to be contacted; alternatively we can use the Chat button to start a chat with an Amazon operator (quick and fast) or start a support request via e-mail, using the E-mail button (slower).
Remember that Amazon has the best service in the world and is very keen to ensure that this quality is maintained: explain the problem to the operator and listen to what is offered to you in order to solve it. In most cases we will be offered a full refund of the shopping made or a new free shipping of the purchased item (if available from Amazon), with the recommendation that, in case of late arrival of the parcel given for missing, we will have to send it back ( under penalty of double payment of the object).
