Resolve Windows Update errors if the system does not update

We try to face another famous Windows bug and problem: its update through the Windows Update page which fails with errors and does not allow automatic system updating.
Windows Update is the Microsoft service for updating the Windows operating system.
Users can visit open Windows Update from the Control Panel (in Windows 10 from Settings> Updates ) to scan the operating system for possible updates.
Updates can be installed automatically and directly on the site, but sometimes Windows Update can cause problems on some computers and end in error.
The main one of the errors that occur and, probably, the most common problem encountered, is the appearance of an error message that says more or less like this: " the updates have not been installed ".
This message means that some services or processes essential for the correct functioning of the automatic update from the Microsoft site are not active on the PC.
Windows Update is governed by two services, one is called Windows Update, the other is BITS ( Background Intelligent Transfer Service ), the Background Intelligent Transfer Service .
Bits can cause further problems on some computer systems especially after uninstalling software programs, such as antivirus or security programs and especially after an infection on the PC and the removal of viruses and other harmful software.
In general, to correct the error, go to Start -> Run and write services.msc .
In the list of services you must find, stop and restart (by pressing the Start button) the two services, both " Background Intelligent Transfer Service " and " Windows Update " and set them with automatic start.
However, it can happen that BITS does not start the same returning an error as usual incomprehensible to 99% of Windows users.
In other cases, however, it depends on updates that have remained blocked and that cannot finish their installation.
In any case, the best solution is offered by Microsoft itself with a script to be executed that resets the Windows Update service in one fell swoop, resetting it and putting it back into operation, solving every problem .
This file called WUReset.bat can be downloaded from this page for Windows 7 and Windows 10 and 8.
Also try the Microsoft Fix it, an automatic tool for solving common problems with Windows Update.
In another article, however, the solutions for errors in installing updates in Windows 10 while in a specific guide explains how Windows Update works in Windows 10 .
Finally, I remember that updating Windows is very important, especially for security reasons as 90% of critical patches and updates concern the coverage of security flaws that allow malicious users to enter PCs.
To update the Windows operating system, you can use manual update procedures, described in another post, even if Bits and Windows Update do not work.
