As reported some time ago, Microsoft has released a new special version of Windows 10 called Windows 10 S, which closely follows the Chrome OS operating system. As explained, Windows 10 S is the system with only low-cost PC apps where, in practice, it is not possible to install traditional programs, where there is no desktop, with the ability to install only applications from the Microsoft store.
The result is that of a super fast computer to turn on, which always works as on the first day, safe and practically impossible to infect with viruses, ideal for studying, working with Office and surfing the internet.
Although there are strong limitations, Windows 10 S can be a comfortable operating system for some poor people and for those who want a very fast portable PC always available to navigate .

Below, in the second part, we also see how to return from Windows 10 S to Windows 10 Pro to have the complete operating system again, with a procedure that can also be used if you buy a computer with Windows 10 S per-installed.
Install Windows 10 S from Windows 10 Pro there is a tool that makes the procedure very simple made available directly from Microsoft.
The procedure, which Microsoft recommends trying in a test environment (therefore on a computer that we can format without problems), works to switch to Windows 10 S from Windows 10 Pro, Windows 10 Education and Windows 10 Enterprise.
If you are using Windows 10 Home, this update tool does not work.
The installation tool, Windows 10 S Installer, can be downloaded for free from the Microsoft site .
You can then launch the installer to follow the automatic procedure, download the installation files of the Windows 10 S system and go ahead with the version change.
The Windows 10 license activation will remain that of the previous version, so there will be no problem.
To put the Italian language, after installation, you must open Settings from the Start menu.
Depending on the computer used, the time required to switch from Windows 10 Pro to Windows 10 S will not exceed one hour.
Once Windows 10 S is installed, you can go back to Windows 10 Pro at any time .
Microsoft offers, on computers with Windows 10 S, a simple upgrade system to Windows 10 Pro, so you can go back to installing the normal programs that you download from the internet.
The only thing that must be considered is that while on some devices the update is free (as it is in case you have passed Windows 10 Pro to Windows 10 S and you want to go back), in other cases install Windows 10 Pro from Windows 10 S can cost a 50 Euro license.
To start the update process, press the Start button, go to Settings and then to Update and Security .
Go to the Activation menu, click on the button to go to the Store on the right and proceed with the installation of Windows 10 Pro.
At this stage and before the upgrade, Windows 10 S may ask you to buy the license.
Upon restarting it will return to the full and normal Windows 10 system.
At this point you can always perform a clean installation of Windows 10 Pro.
