Check network with Chrome to understand what's wrong with the internet connection

The problem of when the internet doesn't work or when a website doesn't open for no apparent reason is never easy to solve and often depends not on us but on the internet provider.
However, when the internet doesn't work, the first thing to check is if the network cable is connected or if the wifi has a decent signal.
You can then turn the router off and on again, then do the same with the computer and perform other basic checks to make sure it is not our fault before calling the customer service of Telecom, Fastweb or any other network provider.
Regarding all these checks, we have already seen in a detailed guide how to solve internet connection problems and how in the latest versions of Windows, Windows 8 and 7, a network diagnostic service is available.
Now this type of control can also be done with Google Chrome thanks to a new Google network-debug tool that automatically verifies network connectivity helping to discover and solve any problems and to provide information that will come in handy in the case of support calls to the call center of the network provider.
The original app, developed by Google itself, is called Chrome Connectivity Diagnostic, it is already included in Chrome OS on Chromebook computers and is now installable on Chrome browser as an application that works even if the PC is offline .
Once installed from the Chrome Web Store, the Connectivity Diagnostic tool appears in the Chrome application launcher from where you can open it at any time, even without opening Chrome.
Once launched, it performs some tests on the network that can last from a few seconds to a couple of minutes.
If no problems are found, it simply displays that the network connection is working normally.
The results will be:
- Internet connection available
- DNS server available
- Internet traffic not blocked by DNS
- Internet traffic not blocked by HTTP
- Internet traffic not blocked by the firewall on port 80
- Internet traffic not blocked by the firewall on port 443
- No delay in DNS resolution
- There are no delays in receiving replies from Google websites
A green check mark indicates that the test has passed successfully, while any problem, if found, is indicated by a red exclamation mark.
You can run the test again by clicking on the small gear icon at the top right.
