Receive notifications for new incoming emails on PC in preview

To receive Email messages there are two possibilities: the first using a client program that downloads new messages to the computer, the second going to read the mail directly on the internet, connecting to the site to which you have registered.
In any case, a notification system for new incoming messages on your e-mail may be useful, which sends a notice on the computer for each email received and allows a quick preview look for new emails, without having to download and without need to open a program or website.
The goal is therefore to receive notification of new emails at the moment they arrive.
This system becomes especially important to read the emails of mailboxes such as Yahoo, Gmail, Hotmail, Outlook, Virgilio, Libero and all those that can only be read online via a browser, to receive messages directly on the computer .
The notification of new incoming messages is also useful to those who use clients such as Microsoft Outlook so as to receive emails even if the program is closed.
Receiving e-mails on your computer does not mean downloading e-mails from the e-mail server but only reading a preview of the messages and replying quickly .
It may seem strange but this category of software does not present many alternatives also because, in some cases, it can be superfluous.
We must not forget that with Microsoft Outlook and other alternative e-mail clients you can receive notifications on the desktop of new incoming messages.
However, it remains a requirement of many people to be able to receive notifications of new messages sent to their webmail box, without having to install a real email client.
1) For this purpose, in the list of the best clients to receive Email on the computer there are two that can be used both as notifiers of new messages and as email management programs.
They are Pegasus Mail and Claws-Mail that stand out from the others for their lightness and the ability to read the message headers without downloading them to the computer .
2) The luckiest ones are those who use Gmail because there are several tools for notifying new Gmail emails on the desktop .
3) Popman is a program to receive emails in preview and know immediately the subject and sender, so you can quickly delete the uninteresting ones without opening them and without downloading anything.
The program is really simple and useful, it takes up very little memory and notifies every new incoming message.
You can enter multiple email accounts and adjust various settings including the frequency of alerts and their appearance.
4) One of the best notification programs for Windows (Windows 10 and Windows 7) is called EmailTray which is the evolution of SenderOK, an old plugin for Outlook.
EmailTray is now a completely new software that can be run independently, completely free, which serves to receive Email alerts from multiple email accounts simultaneously.
Compared to other similar programs, EmailTray not only notifies the user of new incoming messages, but also offers an interface for managing e-mails, also making them a classification of importance.
This program sorts emails into 4 priority categories : high, medium, low and no priority or spam.
Beyond an initial automatic classification, the user can manually assign different priority levels based on the sender.
Spam messages can also be checked to prevent errors from being made by the automatic detection system.
EmailTray also manages to give various priorities to automatic messages from newsletters, subscription emails, updates from social networks, etc., so that you can always keep the most important things under control.
However EmailTray is a good program especially because it is easy to configure even for the less experienced.
In fact, it recognizes the configurations for the most used e-mail accounts such as Gmail, Yahoo, Hotmail and those stored in Microsoft Outlook so as to avoid the user the effort of having to set the Email reception parameters.
With this program you can avoid opening the browser to read webmail, also because from Emailtray you can also reply directly to messages.
Among the options you can choose how often to check the mailbox to detect new messages, decide whether the notification should also be audible, also based on the priority.
5) Similar but much simpler and lighter is PopTray which requires manual configuration and is presented only as a tool for the notification of new unread emails on your mailbox which supports reception from POP3 servers.
Poptray shows an icon in the system tray or notification area at the bottom right of the desktop.
6) The best program for receiving alerts and notifications of new incoming emails is Pop Peeper .
This tool is like a mini mail client, very light, which can also be used as a portable program, to be copied to a USB stick, to browse mail on the computer even without an internet connection.
In this case, the settings for Gmail, Yahoo, Hotmail and many other services are preconfigured.
To configure mail services such as Libero, Virgilio, Alice or others not included in the list, you can add the POP3 or IMAP server.
You can also import accounts already configured in mail clients such as Outlook, Windows Live mai, Eudora, Thunderbird.
If desired, you can also configure the SNMP server to reply or send new messages directly from Pop Peeper, without opening the browser.
7) To receive only the headers of incoming emails you can use another program such as Magic Mail Monitor .
This is a very light tool that does not require installation, which shows all the emails received only with subject, sender and date.
For each new incoming email, you also receive a notification on the desktop.
Each message or can then be opened as a text file.
Magic Mail Monitor can control multiple different mail accounts but, for each of them, it requires to specify the POP server, different for each provider (e.g. pop.mail.yahoo.it or pop.gmail.com).
8) You can receive notifications of unread Email messages on Chrome, Firefox and Opera, whatever the email service used.
9) Finally, I would like to report a program called FreePop which should work on Windows, Linux and Mac.
With Freepop you can also receive emails in corporate environments where door 110 is closed and where you cannot navigate with your web browser on your webmail account.
Personally, on Windows 7, I was not able to make it work but, perhaps, with a thorough reading of the instructions in Italian, someone will be able to tell me what I am wrong with.
If you have other alternatives to receive notifications of new incoming E-Mail messages on your PC, please let us know.
