1) How to fill in the European Curriculum Vitae (Europass)
Among the models we recommend, the Curriculum Vitae model in European format certainly stands out, today also called Europass, because it was released from the official job site of the European Union.
This CV is very good for applying or for taking part in public competitions or companies related to the public administration; however, not much is required in the private sector (except in cases where it is specified to send the European CV), therefore we recommend that you fill it out and use it only if we are looking for a job in the public administration sector .
From the Europass website we can download a Word template of the European CV, in Italian or in any other language, with instructions for use.
Once you open the page we will immediately see various fields to fill in and update with our information.
In the online creation phase, the various sections of the CV must be completed:
- Personal information : name, address, email, phone number etc.
- Type of research is the field where you can write what type of job you want to do, the occupation for which you are competing, the current job and your qualification.
- Professional experience is the section with the list and description of previous occupations. - Education and training where to list the schools attended, training courses carried out and certificates obtained. - Personal skills, finally, is the section where to write spoken or studied languages, computer skills (digital), communication skills, managerial and organizational skills and general professional skills. On the right side it is possible to add to the Europass Curriculum also the photo (always to be put!), The driving license and possibly add other fields of expertise, a free field with other information and any attachments.
On the left side, it is possible to write other documents that can be requested during the application for a job, that is, the cover letter, the European skills passport and the language passport .

At the end of the compilation, we can review the curriculum in preview and download it to our PC as a Word file, LibreOffice or even as a PDF with the addition of Europass XML, a particular extension that will allow you to edit the existing CV without having to start over.

2) Create your own unique and personalized CV
One of the reasons why we do not recommend using the Europass Curriculum Vitae in a private environment (jobs in private companies and multinationals) is due to its excessive repetitiveness : sending a curriculum graphically the same as that of many other people (1000 European CV for example) the chances of someone noticing us greatly decrease, given that our skills are not immediately at first sight. Since the purpose of the CV is to "show off" (in fact "sell us"), a bad showcase will never attract an employer (or a human resources selector). This does not mean that we have to write stupid things, invent crafts or references: even just the graphic and cured aspect of a personalized CV could lead us to have the place we want.
Let's remember these words: a recruiter usually doesn't lose more than 20-30 seconds reading a CV, so creating a CV that knows how to say everything about us in just 20 seconds is fundamental! As we have already had occasion to mention in the guide, we use the European CV at companies that expressly request it or if we have to make a competition for a post in the public administration or other activities related to the Italian State (Police competition, Carabinieri etc.). For all other competitions or job announcements in the private sector, it is better to use a unique and personalized CV, with everything you need at first glance and readable in just 20 seconds .
