Open / close the cover to turn on / off the screen (Android)

If we have a smartphone, we may want to protect it with a case, probably a case with a flap that covers the screen, with a magnetic closure.
There are cases of this type almost everywhere, of two types: the one with the "flip" of the cover and the ones without flip.
Those with flip have a magnet that allows you to turn off the screen when the screen is covered and illuminate it when it is discovered, which is very convenient for using the mobile phone quickly.
Covers without magnetic flip, which probably cost less, do not have this effect and do not turn on the screen when it is discovered, nor turn it off when it is covered.
To use the cell phone they force us to press the power button every time.
If you have a cover for your Android smartphone that does not have the function of automatically turning on the screen when it is opened, then you can use a replacement application that, in most phones, works.
The app is called Smart Screen On Off and only needs to be installed and activated to have the screen auto-on and off effect.
The app takes advantage of the proximity sensor which when it is covered, automatically commands the phone to turn off the screen.
When the sensor sees light, then it can turn on the screen.
The mechanism works well, even if the app isn't perfect.
In some cases it can crash and require a restart while in other cases, rarely for my tests, it crashes with error.
In the application settings there are also two options, one for saving energy, which may not work on some types of smartphones, the other for deactivating the app at night, always to save energy.
You can also exclude one or more apps from Auto Screen, so that if one of them is open, the screen does not turn off and does not wake up.
