What is faster between Wifi and Bluetooth?

The most used ways to transfer data wirelessly between cell phones and computers are two, Wifi and Bluetooth .
For example, as explained in another guide, on the iPhone you can activate the hotspot function both via wifi and via bluetooth.
For some it may be a foregone answer, but it is still useful to know which of the two technologies is faster to transmit and receive data and which one should use more when possible .
To answer very quickly, wifi is significantly faster than bluetooth.
The maximum data transmission speed for Bluetooth 2.1 is, at best, around 3 Mbps.
Wifi, on the other hand, reaches a maximum of 54-600 Mbit / s depending on the "g" or "n" technologies.
So the speed of Bluetooth isn't even close to that of Wifi.
Versions 3 and 4 of Bluetooth are certainly faster, but since in these implementations the transfer takes place via Wi-Fi and Bluetooth is used only to set up and negotiate the connection, they do not count.
One might therefore think that Bluetooth is an almost obsolete technology that can no longer be used, but this is not the case.
The fact is that wifi consumes much more energy and that is why on smartphones it is always better to use bluetooth whenever possible .
For the connection of the mobile phone to the handsfree or the wireless earphones or for the iPhone hotspot function, to connect keyboards or printers and whenever it is not necessary to have a data transmission speed as high as that to watch a streaming movie, it is convenient use bluetooth.
If anything, instead of Bluetooth you can use Wifi Direct, a technology of direct wifi transfer between two devices or NFC, already explained in other articles.
