Search for files in Windows folders: Listary

Unfortunately, the title may not show the genius of an application for Windows that could really become an indispensable program for many users, thanks to the exceptional way in which it manages to render.
We have seen in many articles some tricks to improve the navigation between the files and folders of the Windows explorer and many ways to speed up operations, perhaps with shortcuts or with the addition of buttons.
In this case it is a matter of adding a command to search for files that is inserted inside the folders or even on the desktop, which appears only when needed and which works in a much better way than the default search bar of Windows 7, Vista or XP .
For those who write to you, Listary is an impressive tool for managing files on Windows, to the point of wondering how you could have worked without today.
Windows, in fact, has never changed its file and folder management system and now we are well accustomed to it.
However, there is a problem when opening a folder with many files inside it.
For example, each document is saved in the Documents folder which, in the long run, can become so full of files that it makes their search difficult.
The problem becomes more relevant when you have to select a file from the small selection window that opens each time you press " Open file " from a program or when you have to send an attachment via email.
Listary then becomes the perfect solution and it is also a new way to find files on your computer very quickly .
It brings up a small text box in which to write the name of the desired file.
The box is smart and, just writing a letter, it shows all the files that have that letter in a list so, even if you don't remember the exact name, you can easily scroll the list to find the desired file.
Listary can be downloaded for free for personal use while being paid for commercial use.
After installation, the program hides itself and remains running in the background, indicated by the icon at the bottom right near the clock.
By right clicking on the icon you can access the menu of options to configure shortcuts and to make Listary compatible with multiple types of windows.
To use Listary's search bar, whenever you need it and on any Windows window that contains a list of files, desktops and task managers included, just press the Win-W key combination.
The search function on the task manager is really useful also because there is no predefined way to search for the listed items.
On the box, next to it, there are also three buttons: favorites, recent folders and smart lists.
To set favorites, just enter the options and mark paths or folders that you want to access quickly.
The Smart List instead is the list of Listary commands.
The main feature of Listary is the ability to quickly select a file in any Windows window, both folders and Open / Save windows or even on the desktop, without having to scroll through the list and look for the exact name of the file by eye.
Simply, just start typing any part of the file name to see a list of possible objects that contain those written letters (a bit like Google search) and independent of their position in the name.
So if you want to search for a document named ' document_navigaweb_1.pdf ', you can simply search the listary text box for the word " nav " to see the file in the list.
The nice thing is that, even if you are not sure that that file is on the displayed folder, Listary also searches in the most recently used folders and not only in the open one.
Among other functions, at any time, you can press the Ctrl + G key combination to go directly to the last opened folder, which is really useful when you need to save files from programs such as Word that always have a predefined folder and you always have to change it manually .
Listary can also be integrated with other file and folder managers such as Total Commander or xplorer2.
