Continuing the discussion on ways to use cell phone tracking, we see some of the best tools to find, wherever we are, interesting places in the surrounding area, things to see and things to do. There are in fact applications, also very famous such as Facebook and Google Maps, which are able to tell us at any time, not only where we are but also what we have around, the most interesting or useful places close to our position .
So if we need a bar, a restaurant or if, on vacation, we want to admire the nearest tourist attraction or the closest museum that you can reach on foot, just take a look at your cell phone.
The only requirement is that the smartphone, Android or even iPhone, be connected to the internet and that geolocation services are active (but without the obligation to activate GPS).
1) For example, with Google Maps you can easily find restaurants in the area and also know how they are and how much they cost.
Just open the application on your smartphone (Android and iPhone should be the same in this) and tap on Explore nearby to find points and places of interest near us .
We've already talked about how easy it is to explore points of interest based on time and distance with Google Maps, also receiving automatic and personalized recommendations based on previous searches. By tapping on the name of a restaurant you can get its address, telephone number, times, menu, website, photos (thanks to all the work Google has done with Street View) and also the reviews of others users (though not many compared to specialized apps). Google Maps is very convenient for finding restaurants, but you can also use it to get suggestions for cinemas, museums, parks, stadiums and other recreational places.
2) Facebook is another great app for finding things to do and interesting nearby places .
On the Facebook app you can press the menu button (the one with three lines at the top right) to access the section of nearby places . On the map there will be places where you can tag yourself because they have a dedicated page, which are practically all. There are therefore monuments, restaurants, gyms, hotels, cinemas, churches and any commercial activity. For each, you can open the card to find out where to find the address, telephone number, photos and comments of those who have been there.
3) To find hotels and restaurants near us, the best app is TripAdvisor for the huge number of more or less reliable reviews (and Yelp is also perfect).

5) Generic points of interest (POI)
With satellite navigators such as TOMTOM or Garmin it is possible to find on the maps every possible point of interest, be they pharmacies, clothing stores, ATMs etc.
Google Maps also shows the names of shops and points of interest on the map but you can do better with applications such as Maps.me and TomTom Go Navigator for Android.
Good is also the Sygic app, also for Android, which shows the icons for the whole map so you can see the places of interest while using the navigator.
