Account management inactive in Google and Gmail

Curious, a bit macabre, but undoubtedly very useful is the new system for managing inactive Google and Gmail accounts .
This is a security setting to retrieve the main information and data of an account of a person who for various reasons, probably due to death, leaves and leaves his account inactive without accessing Gmail or Google+, nor to other services in the Google world. In practice, this is a digital testament in the event of the death of the person holding the account . This inactive account management system must be of interest to all those who use Google and Gmail services for commercial, work or demanding hobby reasons and, in some cases, also profitable, such as, for example, a blog blog open on Blogger.com.
To prevent all work from being automatically deleted due to inactivity from Google, you can set up a trusted person who can then recover blogs, gmail, address book, Youtube videos and other data before they are deleted.
To ensure that your online work done on blog posts or Youtube videos or even that important data saved in Gmail emails can become inaccessible and end up being deleted due to inactivity (in the event of death of the person or for others reasons), a recovery system can already be prepared today to address family members or other trusted people.
The function is called Account Management inactive which is located on the general security settings page of the Google account and is used to decide the fate of your account and all the online services related to it when the account is not used for a certain period. of time.
There are 4 steps to configure:
- Notify me : Here you need to configure a security mobile number to receive a message before any action is taken on the account.
The mobile phone number is confirmed by SMS and must be your personal one.
You can also add an alternative Email address for greater availability.
- Timeout period : defines the period of time before an account is considered inactive by the system and is then automatically canceled (actually it is not clear when an account is canceled after it is marked as inactive and there is no option to configure it). If you set it to three months, your Google Account will be considered inactive if no account access is made in the three month period. Google also determines when to send a notice to the people indicated on the card, if you set the inactivity to 6 months, already 2 months before they will receive a warning on their mobile phone.
- Add one or more trusted contacts to leave the account data management.
Of this person who may be the wife, the child, a parent or a close friend, the mobile number must be indicated as well as the email address. In the wizard, you must then indicate which data this trusted person can access. In particular, it is possible to save from a cancellation due to inactivity: Blogger, Contacts, Google Drive, Gmail, Google+, Picasa Web Albums and YouTube. An email will be sent to them explaining what happened and what they can do. You can also create a personalized message as an automatic reply on Gmail, in case of account inactivity, to be sent to the writer to the account's email address.
Skipping the final option, that of deleting the account forever, to save all the settings, click on the Activate button at the bottom. From now, in case of death or serious reasons for impeding the use of the Google account and all related services such as Blogger, Gmail and Youtube, the data can be recovered by an heir or a trusted person who has been marked in his " will".
