Turn Android into a phone for the elderly, simple with the big buttons

Today's cell phones are no longer just phones but almost ultra-compact computers that combine the functions of camera, satellite navigator, mp3 player, also serve as e-book readers, file storage devices, alarm clocks and there are many others tools that can be added via applications. There are, however, people who are really allergic to technological evolution, who cannot get used to the new one or who simply have no interest in the various accessory functions of the phone. I could never imagine my grandmother using an Android smartphone, nor could I recommend it to my father or a friend of mine who still runs with an old Nokia in black and white.

Those who have no interest in applications and for all those functions that do not concern the phone and SMS messages, can still use a modern Android phone if Big Launcher is installed above, a graphical interface that transforms the smartphone into a standard mobile phone for the elderly . Big Launcher is an application created by Italian developers and designed to facilitate the use of any Android mobile phone for the elderly. For the moment Big Launcher is a free application (although perhaps it will not be a paid day) and can be downloaded for free from the Google Play Market.
If you have to buy a new phone to Grandmother or Mom, who are absolutely not interested in applications, but want a cell phone that is as simple as possible, instead of buying those terrible phones that sell in shopping malls, with huge buttons and with a poor hardware and easy to break, you can buy a nice Android smartphone and install Big Launcher on it. This application allows you to transform any Android smartphone into a "simple phone" hiding all the complexities, all the possible options and applications.
Once installed, Big Launcher covers the entire Home screen of the phone and brings up a full-screen keypad with which you can: make calls, scroll through numbers in the phone book, see missed calls, send SMS and read received SMS. The address book is that of the telephone even if, for now, there is no possibility to add new numbers. Each button is large and large, there is a clock at the top and the colors are designed specifically to prevent colorblinds from confusing them. Even the characters and numbers typed are written large thus making the design more accessible especially for the elderly. In the Big Launcher options you can configure automatic startup when the phone is switched on, so that it is always available. There is no need to use the physical buttons on the phone, the applications remain in the background and to make the normal home reappear just touch the home button on the Android phone keypad.
