With thousands of minutes of videos uploaded to YouTube every minute, finding the ones we care about becomes a major organizational challenge. Searching for videos, now, is like looking for a particular website and fortunately that Youtube is from Google, otherwise perhaps it would not have such an advanced search engine. A first support to the discovery of the videos comes, first of all, from the first page of Youtube.com, where there are the videos that are considered interesting and the most popular at this particular moment. If you are subscribed to Youtube through the Google account, the latest videos from the various subscribed channels are also listed.
What many ignore and don't know that you can easily find interesting videos on YouTube using advanced search parameters, which we will talk about now.

The advanced search parameters can be inconveniently added (after doing a first search) by clicking the filter button or, better yet, they are added on Youtube immediately, writing them after the word to be searched before a comma : for example eastwood, movie .
You can add multiple parameters to the same search by interspersing them with a comma.
The most useful searches to do on Youtube are certainly the following:
1) Limit your search results based on the time period
When you perform a standard YouTube search, all results are displayed.
If you want to limit the results based on time, to obtain, for example, results only concerning a recent event or an announcement, you can use the following parameters (looking for Windows 10 as an example):
- Windows 10, hour to find only videos published in the last hour.
- Windows 10, today shows videos that have been published in the past 24 hours.
- Windows 10, week only videos posted online in the past seven days
- Windows 10, month only videos published in the last month.
- Windows 10, year video from the last year.
2) HD video only
Not all videos posted on Youtube have HD quality, high definition.
Although high quality can be uncomfortable when the internet connection is slow, those lucky enough to have fast internet can definitely enjoy it and therefore will want to search for videos only in high quality.
To do this, just search by writing the word hd after the comma, for example: U2, hd to search for U2 videos that are visible in high quality.
3) Search for playlists
If you want to hear a list of songs on Youtube, instead of looking for them one by one, you can find a self-generated playlist.
To do this, use the playlist parameter after the comma then, for example: U2, playlist
4) Search by duration
Another option of the advanced search on Youtube is the filter of results for the duration, between short (no more than 4 minutes) and long from (20 minutes and more).
To search use:
Abba, short to find short videos on Abba.
Abba, long to find long videos on Abba.
5) Search by location
On Youtube you cannot do this type of search so there are other sites to find videos based on the place where it was recorded or shared .
6) Other parameters that can be used in searches, always to be written after the comma, are:

- , cc to find videos with subtitles only
7) Special sections of Youtube
Youtube also has a series of sub-sites that collect videos of a certain type and, in particular, we have:
- Youtube Music, with only music
- Youtube Kids, with videos for children
- Youtube Gaming, with videos from video games also live
- Youtube Fashion, with fashion shows
- Youtube Movies and programs, with movies to watch.
- YOutube Live, with live videos
