Send the same SMS to a group on Android

Sometimes, when you want to send the same message to several people, it is convenient to use the group messages function, which are not only available on Whatsapp, but also for SMS.
In the SMS app, taking as reference the default Android app for SMS, or Google Messenger, you can indicate the name of two or more recipients and send them the same message without having to write it two or more times.
The problem is that, by default, when you try to send a group message with Google Messenger this becomes an MMS that is sent to all users of the distribution list.
Then when someone replies, this response is received by all the participants in the group, as it happens in a Whatsapp group.
On the other hand, it would be preferable, since these are SMS messages, not to activate this conversion in MMS and to receive replies in private, without them also reaching others.
For this to happen, you only need to change an option in the SMS Messenger app settings.
Then open Google Messenger on your Android phone, tap the menu button at the top, then open the Settings and go to Advanced .
Under the MMS section, you will find an option for group messages that you can change from " send a single MMS to all recipients " to " Send single SMS to all recipients ".
Once you change this option, you can immediately try to send a message putting more people as recipients.
Each will receive the SMS as if it had been sent only to him and, consequently, the reply will be private.
If you are not using Google Messenger (which I recommend everyone to install) and using other apps to send SMS, it is likely that there is still this option even if it may have a different name or that it is already set to send SMS and not MMS (must be checked on a case-by-case basis).
