Mi Band 3: Fitness Bracelet and Smartwatch all in one, at 25 Euros

While the most important media speak only of Apple and the new iPhones 2018, in these same days, Xiaomi, which has now become a global manufacturer of smartphones and smartwatches, has put one of its best and most successful products on sale in Italy commercial, the Mi Band 3 bracelet.
The writer is really a fan of this fitness bracelet and watch, not only because it works well and has all the functions I need in a smartwatch, but above all for the unbeatable price it has.
After celebrating the Mi Band 2, described a year ago as the best fitband on the market, I must therefore repeat myself for the third version of the Mi Band, released a few months ago in China and now on sale also in Italy, at the incredible price of 25 Euros .

For those who do not know it, Xiaomi's Mi Band 3 is, basically, a fitness bracelet that serves to measure sports performance.
It therefore works as a sleep quality meter, counts steps, calorie counter consumed and heart rate detector in real time, thanks to its sensor on the back.
In addition to this, the Mi Band 3 works exactly like a pure smartwatch, with the functions of watch, alarm clock and receiving notifications from the mobile phone .
Therefore, every time a new message arrives on Whatsapp, this can be read on the screen of the Mi Band watch without having to retrieve the phone in your bag or pocket.
The notification system of the Mi Band 3 works with vibrations, so as not to miss any incoming phone call or message, even if the phone is set without a ringtone.
The sleep detector, pedometer and heart rate tracking are automatic and continuous functions of the Mi Band, which absolutely do not require an internet connection or that the phone is necessarily on.
The Mi Band 3 has in fact its own memory which stores the detected data inside and which can be synchronized on the phone once a day.
The app to use to update and synchronize the Mi Band 3 is Xiaomi's Mi Fit, available for iPhone and for Android.
The app is easy to use, it immediately shows the results of detections and allows you to customize some aspects of the smartwatch screen.
You can activate the automatic turning on of the screen when you raise your arm and rotate your wrist, you can set alarms and reminders and configure notifications for calls, SMS and specific apps such as Whatsapp, Facebook or others.
If the Xiaomi app wasn't enough, you can use a powerful unofficial app like Notify and Fitness only for Android, which also allows you to customize your notifications and use even more features.
At this point, the most important question to ask is what differences are there between Mi Band 2 and Mi Band 3 and if it is worthwhile, in case you already own the Mi Band 2, to buy the 3 (as I did in these days).
At first glance, the Mi Band 3 looks almost identical to the Mi Band 2, albeit with a rounder and slightly larger shape.
The strap of the Mi Band 3, made with a similar thermoplastic elastomeric material like that of the Mi Band 2, seems a little more solid and resistant.
In particular it is less easy, with the Mi Band 3, to remove the device from the strap, so that it does not accidentally split off.
The main improvement made to the Mi Band 3 compared to the Mi Band 2 concerns its display.
The screen is practically the same type, but larger to display more information, such as messages and weather conditions.
The display is also touchscreen over the entire surface, so you can scroll through the information screens by swiping your finger up, down, left and right.
The text, although still monochromatic, remains clear and easy to read, brighter and more visible when exposed to direct sunlight.
The other big difference between Mi Band 2 and 3 is water resistance .
Mi Band 3 is actually underwater, with water resistance equal to 5ATM, which can be immersed up to 50 meters.
The Mi Band 2 can only resist immersion in water up to 1 meter for 30 minutes.
Those who dive or stay in the water for a long time would therefore do well to update their Mi Band by switching to version 3 just for this reason.
The Mi Band 3 then has the NFC chip, a 60% larger battery than the Mi Band 2, with a duration of 20 days (the Mi Band 2 was also designed to last 20 days) and the bluetooth 4.2 connection (Mi Band 2 has Bluetoot 4.0), more stable.
Among the new features that were not previously present on the Mi Band 2 there is that of measuring sports data in real time to monitor the physical state of the heart and speed during the exercises and not only after.
Mi Band 3 also improves smartwatch functionality thanks to the screen space that allows you to read messages in full and not just the start as it happens on the 2.
Buying the Xiaomi Mi Band 3 from Italy is extremely easy today, directly on Amazon, with one day shipping for those with Prime.
