Check if your Facebook account has been hacked

Late last month, Facebook announced what was perhaps the worst security breach in its history, which allowed an unknown group of hackers to steal secret access tokens from millions of accounts by exploiting a flaw in the ' View ' feature. come '.
Facebook estimated that the number of hacked accounts would be around 50 million, while a new update released today reduced this number to 30 million and highlighted the users interested in the violation.
From these 30 million accounts, the hackers were able to extract a lot of personal information, even if the company ensured that the malicious criminals apparently were unable to access third-party app data.
Who has one of the accounts hacked on this occasion, probably has not had great signs of the violation, if not that of having to repeat the login on each device.
Now, however, Facebook has published a page where you can find out if your account has been hacked and what it means.
It is really worth checking if your account has been hacked, now and on every occasion will happen again in the future, because it is surprising how likely this possibility is.
Not surprisingly, I too was able to discover through this page that my account was among those hacked, which I already suspected because I had that disconnection in September of which I spoke a little above.
The data stolen by this hacker attack therefore concern personal information and therefore: Name, Main email address, Most recently added phone number, Username, Date of birth, Gender, Devices used to access Facebook, language, Relationships, Religion, City, Work, School and Website, locations, people and pages followed.
Fortunately, no passwords and credit card details were stolen.
Those who have been hacked, like me, cannot actually do much now and even changing passwords is not necessary since it has not been extracted and stolen.
What Facebook recommends to hacked accounts is simply to pay attention, in the coming weeks and months, to the commercial calls that can be received and to the emails or messages of spam and scam attempts that may be more numerous than usual.
This is because of all the data, that of the phone number and email are perhaps the most delicate.
Obviously, then, they may have classified our profile to sell it for marketing purposes.
To find out if the account is one of the nearly 30 million that have been hacked, you need to go to the Facebook help center .
If your account has been hacked like mine, you will see a message similar to the one shown in the figure above, which comes from my page.
Facebook says there is nothing to do, that it is not necessary to change your password (although better to do it) because the passwords have not been stolen.
Facebook says it reset those access tokens stolen last month, which is why we were disconnected in September.
At the moment there seems to be no evidence of widespread or used data, but it could certainly have been saved in a database hidden somewhere.
In general and for the future, to find out if a Facebook account has been hacked, the following things must be checked:
- If the e-mail address, name, date of birth and other personal information, including the password, have not changed;
- Friend requests are sent to people never known;
- Messages sent to our friends that have not been written by us are sent.
- There are our posts in our profile or in that of friends we don't recognize.
