Honor 10: smartphone with notch, Android Oreo and top performance

The iPhone X has dictated the fashion and characteristics of all the smartphones released in this period, with the main aesthetic novelty called notch, that is, that small dark space in the center of the upper edge where the sensors, the camera are enclosed front and speaker, with a portion of the screen on the sides.
This stylistic solution has divided technology lovers: on the one hand, those who consider it an inevitable first step towards the full (borderless) full screen, those who prefer to have a little higher edge in order not to spoil the appearance of the display.
Whatever your position, if you love Android smartphones and you want to try the notch we present in this review the Honor 10, a modern device with Android Oreo (the latest version), at the top in terms of performance and with many other interesting features to the point of not regretting the iPhone X.

If the front is fairly standardized in appearance and shape (it may be difficult to distinguish it from models with the notch and similar screen sizes) in the back we find the main differences, with a translucent glass cover that reflects depending on the light shade ranging from black, through blue to purple (depending on the color chosen), for a truly elegant and suggestive effect.

In the back there are the dual cameras, the LED flash and the silk-screened writing Honor and AI Camera, one of the top features of the model (which we will see later).
On the upper edge we find the ambient microphone (to reduce noise), while in the lower edge there is the 3.5mm headphone jack, the USB Type-C socket and the speaker of the phone.
On the sides we find the inevitable volume and power keys, plus the slot for inserting the two SIMs.

The Honor 10 can be classified with a medium-high-end smartphone, also by taking a look at the features offered.

A decidedly complete smartphone, which boasts a really large internal memory (to the point of not needing a microSD slot), a dual rear camera with intelligent correction system, a 24 Megapixel front camera and all the other features that one modern smartphones under € 400 must have in order to compete with competing products.
Among other interesting features, the 5.84-inch screen with enhanced FullHD, Huawei-owned octa-core processor (Kirin series) fast enough for the use of many apps at the same time, the 3, 400 mAh battery, the Dual WiFi Band, on support for NFC technology (for quick connection of Bluetooth devices and for paying with contactless systems) and support for LTE Cat.18 connectivity, which is the fastest currently available.
Operating system
The operating system is EMUI 8.1, a customized version of Android to take full advantage of the features of the device.

This system is based on the latest version of Android (i.e. the Oreo 8.1), so it brings with it all the news presented by Google in terms of optimization and security.
Among the exclusives of this system we point out the AI Camera, that is an artificial intelligence system that acts completely automatically when we take photos by adjusting color, contrast and brightness; taking perfect photos will become a walk, also thanks to the dual rear camera (which captures two shots for the same subject and brings them together for maximum results).
The system also boasts good battery optimization, to the point that arriving in the evening on a single charge is quite realistic.
Price and where to buy it
The Honor 10 is found at prices below € 400; if we are interested in this smartphone we can view it on Amazon (where usually the price is among the lowest available) from here -> Honor 10 (€ 347).

The price is in line with the competition and if we love high-end Huawei smartphones but we cannot spend high figures this Honor 10 is a valid alternative.
Conclusions
We assume that I do not particularly like smartphones with the notch (all to copy Apple as soon as it brings out something, nice or bad it is), this Honor 10 defends itself well from the competition thanks to a decidedly modern technical card, to a design that attracts attention (at least for the rear), for the dual rear camera with intelligent shooting system and a large and bright screen.
As already mentioned a little while ago if we are looking for a complete smartphone without spending more than € 400, this Honor 10 is the right model to bet on without problems.
