Import Free Email, Yahoo and other accounts into Outlook.com

Incredible but true, the antiquated and poor Libero mailbox seems to have finally opened its IMAP servers and would now allow you to send and receive messages from a client or, even better, from a different account such as Gmail or Outlook.com which today they are the best email services ever.
In this guide we see how it is possible, in any case (whether this is true or not), to import all Email messages into Outlook.com from any other mail account, be it Yahoo Mail, Libero Mail, Alice Mail or others .
In fact, Outlook.com now allows you to import e-mail from other services and to send e-mail messages using the same address as before (therefore the free or yahoo one) with its comfortable, reliable interface and counting on its unlimited space for the attachments.

First of all, Microsoft today announced that users who use Outlook.com (the former Hotmail, has nothing to do with Microsoft Outlook) can import emails from email providers via IMAP.
Microsoft has created a very simple wizard that allows new users to keep old email addresses, but manage them all from Outlook.com which offers a modern, powerful interface and with many more functions than the competition.
Then access the Outlook.com account (which is the same for all Microsoft services, XBox, Windows, Hotmail, ex Messenger etc.), click on the settings button at the top right (the gear) and then access the Options.
Under Account Management, click Import Email Account to get started.
from here you can choose to import address book and messages from Gmail (as already explained in the guide on how to go from Gmail to Outlook.com), import emails from Yahoo Mail or from another e-mail provider or IMAP e-mail address.
If you intend to set up a Libero Mail or Alice Mail account, go to Other and provide the login address and password.
Show advanced options and mark the correct IMAP server address which, for Libero mail, is imapmail.libero.it with port 993 .
For other mail services, search on Google IMAP and service name.

Now go back to Outlook.com options and click this time on the item Your Email Accounts .
from here you can add a send only or send and receive account.
To make things easier, you can use the one for sending only, put the address and password and then let Outlook manage the sending in the next option without therefore indicating an SMTP server.
With Outlook.com it doesn't matter if the imported mail service supports SMTP or not because you can choose the Send email option using the Outlook.com server .
On the old email you will receive a message containing the confirmation link, to be clicked to complete the operation.
At this point you can send an email by clicking on the From field and choosing the address of Libero, Yahoo or any added account from the drop-down menu.
In the Email account options you can choose which to make default for sending.
If you have chosen to add a send-only account, to receive in Outlook.com the mail sent to our old address that we want to keep and continue to use (eg or ) you have to go in the options of the mail and enable automatic forwarding of messages to Outlook.com or Hotmail.
In Libero this option is found in the account settings, which can be found by clicking the gear wheel next to Other accounts in the left column.
You can also use a filter to do automatic forwarding.
In conclusion, the mail that others send us to the old address will arrive in Outlook.com and we can use the same address to reply and write new messages.
Thanks to this mechanism, you can use the Outlook.com app on all smartphones and tablets, both Android, iPhone, iPad and Windows Phone.
