Keep the screen always on on Android (tablet or phone)

Who reads long articles on the internet or books on the Android smartphone or tablet and needs to keep the screen on longer, without turning off by himself when you don't touch. In Android settings you can use the option to increase the sleep time so that the phone takes longer before it decides to turn off the screen and automatically lock itself. In Settings, go to the lock screen or security section and find the time option before going to Sleep.
This, however, does not give the possibility to decide that the screen remains on for an indefinite time and until it is manually turned off. Fortunately, there are several applications that can keep the screen illuminated when you hold the device in your hand .
Of one of these, Gravity Screen, with many automatic options to turn the screen on and off, I had already talked about.
However, if you are looking for something simpler and more immediate, you can install Keep Screen On, where you just have to press the ON button to turn on the screen when you pick up the phone. Among the options, you can adjust the sensitivity, automatic activation when the smartphone is turned on and disabling when the phone is in your pocket (detection is via proximity sensors).
If this application does not work or if you want to try some alternative with different options, there are other apps to try and install for free:
- Keep Screen On allows you to choose for which applications you want the screen not to turn off by itself after a few seconds, to keep the screen on when it is charging and, optionally, also to automatically turn off the screen when you put the phone in your pocket, or not to turn it off when it rests on the table.
- Stay Alive is instead the simplest app with which to force the phone to keep the screen on.
- Wakey that allows you to choose the app that should keep the screen illuminated.
