When you need to watch a video or film on PC without worrying about what format it is, only one is the program that immediately comes to mind, VLC Media Player, for years the number one in the category, also because it is free and open source. VLC for Android has recently been updated to version 2 with really important, fun and powerful new features that are worth knowing and reporting.

You can then open any video saved on your PC, from your mobile phone, when connected to the same network.
The only thing missing now is support for the Chromecast which should arrive shortly.

Other functions of VLC 2.0 for Android, in addition to a simplified user interface, are:
