Add functions to Android without root with 6 different apps

When most geeks and specialized forums talk about " mods ", the reference is to the profound changes on the system, which require you to activate special permissions as a phone administrator, ie root permissions.
With the root of Android, in fact, it becomes possible to customize in the way you prefer the Android system, which being open source can also be changed radically.
The best known applications for changing the behavior of some internal Android functions are the Xposed modules, which I talked about some time ago.
It is however possible, even without root, to apply changes to Android and add unique and special functions thanks to some very clever and well-studied free applications.
You can, for example, activate the unlock with facial recognition on each Android phone, round the edges, change the color of the navbar and activate gestures to speed up many features.
1) Use the fingerprint scanner to do different actions
The fingerprint scanner present in many smartphone models, is used to unlock the mobile phone quickly by putting a finger on it.
It would be nice if this button on the phone could do something else, for example launch a specific app or to take a photo.
You can then install the Fingerprint Quick Action app, which allows you to choose a different function, in addition to unlocking the phone, to the fingerprint sensor.
2) Round the corners of the edges
On curated smartphones such as the Samsung Galaxy S8 and the LG G6 the corners at the edges are round and not sharp
It is a banal aestheticism that still makes the appearance of the phone softer, more curved and more pleasant.
Thanks to two similar applications it is possible to round the corners of the edges of the Android interface without spending a penny.
Cornerfly turns the sharp edges of the screen of your Android phone or tablet into rounded corners and the Roundr application does the same, which works similarly.
If Cornerfly doesn't work well, you can try Roundr or vice versa.
3) Customize the bottom navigation bar
I had already talked about this change in the past by reporting NavBar Apps, to be able to choose how to color it.
Another application, NavBar Animations, brings the option of being able to make the navbar animated and colorful, choosing which type of animation to display.
The NavBar Animations app is free, but with ads that can be removed from the pro version, which also allows you to choose additional animations.
While one of the best things about NavBar Animations, like all the apps in this article, is that it doesn't require root access, unfortunately it will have the limit with some apps like Chrome, which it doesn't work with.
4) Quick gestures for everything
To customize the use of the Android phone, it is possible to activate some actions (such as launching specific applications or functions) on the screen by making certain certain gestures such as, for example, swiping two fingers upwards, downwards, making a double or triple touch or even other movements.
With the Navigation Gestures application you can program all the gestures you want for various types of actions.
Among the gestures it is also possible to activate some combinations of physical keys.
5) Volume slider
To have a volume control at your fingertips, so, for example, you can quickly turn it down if you start a video or a game with high volume, you can install the Volume Slider application, which allows you to turn the volume up or down simply by swiping your finger on the edges of the screen.
The app can also be configured to control the brightness of the device screen and is a must-have app on phones with broken volume keys.
6) Release with facial recognition
What is one of the most special features of phones like the iPhone X or the OnePlus 5T, can be activated on any Android 7 and Android 8 smartphone thanks to a special app that works without root.
This is Autoinput, which can be installed for free and activated by touching the Use For Free button and viewing a promotional video.
In the application settings it is necessary, then, to activate the permissions for accessibility (only on Android 7) and then touch and activate the Auto Dismiss Keyboard function.
At this point, go to the Android settings, to the Security> Smartlock section and activate the " Trusted Face " function, to be able to unlock the phone just by looking at it.
