We usually think that to have Internet at home it is necessary to have a landline phone connected to the socket, otherwise it is not possible to browse. Nothing more wrong! Today it is possible to have internet without telephone and landline, useful in some scenarios: those who request to save something in the subscription by giving up the landline phone (now useless with the offers on mobile phones), perhaps choosing some less known Internet operators; or who lives in a house where there is no connection to the national telephone line and the only way to have internet is to take advantage of wireless connections over long distances, without going through the wired landline.
In all cases it is important not only to check the available offers, choosing according to the convenience of the moment, but also all the possible advantages and disadvantages in terms of internet speed and connection quality . Let's take a closer look at the best offers available for the Internet without a telephone and landline.

Internet offers without landline (Internet only)
The advantage of choosing a traditional operator with a wired line is that of having a stable network with very high speeds (especially with fiber optic connection). Any wireless network, even the best, cannot guarantee the same quality and stability that can be obtained with a cable network, which is therefore preferable if we focus on these parameters. Do not overlook the advantage of having a very efficient assistance service, or in any case clearly superior to the assistance service that a smaller company can have.
The best offers in this regard are:
- Fastweb provides the offer called Internet, which allows you to surf without a landline phone at a price of € 30 each month. Fastweb's speed is very generally very high, especially if we are covered by their fiber line (up to 1000 Mega per second) or if we are close to a cabinet with FTTC connection (100 or 200 Mega per second). If we change our mind it is not possible to connect any type of landline phone (the line on the telephone part will be disabled) even if we always use the same socket; to add the calls we will have to change the offer (with Fastweb itself or another operator).

- Infostrada does not offer offers with only the Internet, but the best offer at the moment is FIBRA1000 Unlimited by Infostrada, which at € 30 per month offers fiber optic connection up to 1000 Mega, unlimited calls with modem and assistance included. In this case we can safely avoid connecting the landline phone if we are not interested; if in the future we change our mind the offer also includes unlimited calls, so it's worthwhile in any case.
- TIM has an internet and telephone subscription for 30 Euros per month. You can also take advantage of an offer that does not include advantages on the fixed telephone line; in fact, in order to save on the Internet we can activate is TIM Internet, which at a cost of € 25 per month offers FTTC connection, modem included in the price and Tim Vision; in this case it is absolutely not convenient to connect a landline phone in case we change our mind, given that there are call costs (19 cents / minute and 19 cents connection fee to all national fixed and mobile numbers).
TIM also offers a temporary subscription to be used for the second home, for example the beach house, with the TIM Flexy tariff, with fixed tariffs for 2, 7 or 30 days, without connecting a telephone line.
- Vodafone as TIM presents an offer that does not provide advantages for the telephone line, but only for the Internet. The best in this sense is Internet Unlimited, which at a cost of € 28 per month internet on fiber optic or FTTC, Vodafone Station Revolution included in the price and maximum line speed included (up to 1000 Mega per second). As for TIM, we avoid connecting the landline phone if we are not interested, even if landline calls are included in the subscription.
In addition to the most famous telephony operators, we would like to point out, for those who want the internet without a telephone, also the Internet offers of minor operators (who work as resellers):
- Tiscali, which offers FTTH and FTTC optical fiber at a cost of € 24.95 per month with unlimited calls included.
- Beactive MegaADSL, which at the time of writing costs only € 13.90 per month in promotion;
- SìADSL, which offers Internet on ADSL up to 30 Mega for 31 Euro per month + activation from 89 Euro in promotion.
- EhiWeb, with 20 Mega ADSL connection without phone at a price of € 24.95 per month.
Internet without telephone and with wireless transmissions
If we do not have the connection to the Telecom telephone line because we live far from a Telecom center or it is very old, all that remains is to contact the wireless operators.
These operators work using antennas very similar to those for the cellular network (sometimes the frequencies are the same) and in order to navigate the house we will have to install an antenna on the terrace or balcony, so that we can pick up the signal and navigate the house with discrete speeds (but always lower than those of cable operators).
The signal is also quite stable, except in case of thunderstorms : in this case we expect service interruptions or very slow navigation (since electrical discharges can interfere with the wireless signal over long distances).
Depending on the coverage, which varies a lot from city to city and in the various areas of Italy, the main internet offers without a fixed line are:
