How to improve cellular signal reception

Despite being the healthiest commercial sector in Italy, to date there are still many areas where the cell phone signal does not take well or does not take at all. Even in the houses of cities like Rome you may find it difficult to have a good cell phone signal that is also stable and that does not cause the sudden line to drop or the intermittent voice during phone calls.
In addition to the difficulty of making calls, due to a poor cellular signal it is also complicated to connect to the internet and send messages from the smartphone. In addition, in addition to these inconveniences, there is also to consider the fact that the mobile phone continuously trying to detect a better signal, drains the battery first.

Because there are, at times, so many problems finding a cellular signal "> recent study that comparing some of the best selling phones of the year, has found that among the best in the signal reception there are the Samsung Galaxy, while in at the bottom of the ranking there are always the Chinese and the iPhones that have never been champions of reception. Generally speaking, if you have a phone that takes little at home, while the older one or that of other people does not seem to suffer as the ours, the fault is surely the smartphone and its poor antenna.

2) Switch the phone off and on again

Leaving aside point 1, when the phone does not seem to take the signal well, the first solution is to restart it. In this way the phone is forced to look for another cell to connect and can find one with the strongest signal. Activating and deactivating airplane mode can have the same effect, but it does not solve other problems that the phone may suffer and that could cause poor reception.

3) Recharge the phone battery

In modern smartphones, when the battery is low, the energy saving mode is activated, dedicating less energy to transmit the cellular signal. Then put the phone on charge or deactivate the energy saving.

4) Move

This is quite obvious, move with your cell phone in your hand to see if it takes better in another point of the house or going in another street. What is less obvious is knowing that cellular transmitters are often unidirectional, so even if you are near a cell, your phone may still pick up on it. Furthermore, not all repeater towers serve all mobile operators.

5) Change operator

The telephony operators are not all the same and it is not a mystery that some take better than others and for example, in Italy, TIM covers much more territory than Wind and Tre. If Tre does not take it at home, it may be that she takes Vodafone well or vice versa.
We should try, perhaps asking friends or relatives who come to visit us.
In another article we also saw where to find the cell coverage map in Italy of Tim, Tre, Wind and Vodafone, in sites like Opensignal.

6) Use Wifi

If the cell phone does not take well, it is better to call in VOIP from the smartphone using the wifi connection.

7) Optimize signal reception

We saw in another article how to optimize the signal reception on Android smartphones, to try to force the smartphone to connect to the most efficient cellular network.

8) Buy a cell phone repeater

The cellular signal repeater works like a wifi repeater, it is placed in an area that takes good and transmits from that point to the area that was poorly covered or with no signal. Personally I have never tried them, but if the signal in the house is poor while maybe on the balcony or in the garden it is good, you can definitely try to see if it solves the problem.
Cellular repeaters can be purchased at prices ranging from 50 Euros up, on Amazon.
