Since Google is the richest company in the world, taking a look at its data centers, which is rather boring and unattractive to any other company, almost gives the feeling of visiting a museum of modern technology, to be surprised and, for those who work in these work environments, even enthusiastic. For those who do not work as a computer scientist, it is sufficient to know that the data center is nothing more than the room where the computer servers are located, all arranged in large closets called "racks".
If you go to visit the data center of large companies such as Telecom, you are immersed in a really bad environment in which to work, noisy, uncomfortable, dusty, full of cables and confusion.
If instead you look at the images published by Google to show " where the internet lives ", it seems to be watching one of those science fiction films where there is the ultra-modern and rich society that, often times, is governed by the villain of the situation.

What Google wants to emphasize on its datacenters page, is the degree of energy consumption caused by its services and the extensive exploitation of renewable energy.
If you do not have an idea of how many servers and how much power must be provided by Google's data centers just think of how many Youtube videos are stored inside them, how many Blogspot blogs, how many website images and photos from Picasa and Google+, how many files have been kept on Google Drive and Gmail and how much internet traffic passes through the search engine and other services used worldwide such as Maps.
Those who want to see google data centers more closely can also take advantage of Street View and virtually walk inside one of the Google offices, looking at offices, open spaces and server rooms. Wandering around the data center, at a certain point, you will notice a StormTrooper, one of the Star Wars guards, who watches over so that nobody gets too close.
