Save attachments and files received in Gmail to Google Drive

The new system for managing attachments sent and received in Email messages has been in operation for several days.
You may notice that the new attachment management interface allows you to view and save files directly on Google Drive, without ever leaving Gmail, making it easier to access these files later, from any device, computer, phone or Tablet.
When you now open an email with attachments in Gmail you can see previews of these files at the bottom of the message, for items such as photos, videos, spreadsheets and PDF files .
When you click on one of these previews, the document or image is displayed in full screen, always without ever leaving Gmail.
From the buttons at the bottom, when viewing, you can download the attachment (using the down arrow button) or print it, enlarge it or simply open it with an application.
Among the options there is also the Google Drive icon to save that attachment in the Google Cloud space.
Without opening the attachment in preview, hovering over the mouse you can see the buttons for downloading to the computer or saving it in Google Drive.
By clicking on the Google Drive icon you can also choose which folder in the Google cloud space and therefore you no longer need to visit the Google Drive website to move a file.
Gmail now displays the list of folders already created and the ability to create a new folder.
If there are multiple attachments in the message, you can also download them all together in Google Drive with a single click.
In practice, Google Drive becomes a little Gmail storage space which, remember, is shared between Google+ Photos, Gmail and Google Drive for a total of 15 GB (for a free account).
Attached files saved in Google Drive can also be opened offline on Chrome (see guide to offline access to fGMail .
It should also be noted that documents saved in Google Drive become editable from within the application thanks to Google Docs, which works a bit like an online Office suite.
Since 2014 it is in fact possible to edit Office documents directly from Gmail .
Documents and all received files can also be opened in the same way with one of the other Google Drive applications.
All Gmail users who are not yet using Google Drive (ex Google Docs) should now start doing so.
For all the details you can read the article on Google Drive: 15 GB to upload files online that can be used even without installing anything on the computer.
Finally, I remember that for some time now and thanks to this integration with Google Drive, with Gmail you can send large attachment files up to 10 GB
