Skype
One of the best services we can use to make classic calls to landlines and cell phones is Skype.
Although this program is famous for its free calls and video calls, it also allows you to make calls to any classic phone number, using both Skype credit and specific subscriptions that can be activated to call the numbers of a particular country.
To call a phone number via Skype Credit, simply top up using the specific page. The rates for calls made through Skype Credit are 2.4 cents per minute to landlines and 10.6 cents per minute to cell phones, with the addition of a 5.2 cents connection fee to landlines and 9.4 cents to mobile phones.
If we want to save money we can subscribe to one of the Skype subscriptions:

Of course we can also choose to call countries abroad, choosing it from the list that will appear on the subscription selection screen.
The quality of the call is very good (comparable to the VoIP of the operators) and the compatibility is excellent: we will thus be able to transform our PC into a real phone with which to call also in fixed numbers and mobile numbers. The only real flaw are the prices, decidedly high even compared to the offers of the classic telephone operators (which with the mobile subscriptions offer many more advantages, making the use of the computer to call almost superfluous).
The activated credit or subscription can be used by installing the Skype program on our PC or Mac; alternatively we can take advantage of these credits also from the Skype app for Android and iPhone, so that we can call via LTE connection wherever we are.

Call from your computer for less than Skype
If Skype seems too expensive, there are several free services that offer calls at much lower prices and that we can use from a PC to be able to make calls to Italian landlines and mobile phones (and not only). Below we have listed the best services:
- VoiceCheap: this service offers free minutes for all new subscribers (200 minutes), with whom we can call Italian landlines. After the end of the trial period we can buy credits and take advantage of the very affordable rates: € 0.02 per minute to Italian landlines, € 0.13 per minute to cell phone numbers.
- Just Voip: the service is similar to the previous one, in fact it also offers free minutes to use to call landlines. After the expiration of the promotion we will be able to call the fixed numbers at € 0.02 per minute, while the mobile numbers provide a rate of € 0.12 per minute.
- VoHippo: new SIP service to call Italian telephone numbers at really affordable prices. It currently allows you to call fixed numbers at € 0.008 per minute (less than 1 cent!), And to call cell numbers at € 0.02 per minute (excluding virtual operators, which we can contact at a rate of 0, 08 € per minute). Each time you top up your credit, free minutes are offered which can be used to call landlines, a good way to make users even more attached to the service.
- Zingaya: another good VoIP service that allows you to call landlines without limits, choosing one of the packages offered by country. To call Italian landlines, for example, we can choose between 10 €, 20 €, 30 € and 150 € packages per month, based on the number of PCs we have to use to make calls. In this way we can also set up our office or business and activate telephone numbers for all our employees or operators.
- Voicee: an all-Italian VoiP service, which allows you to call for free and also to choose the number to appear with, in addition to receiving calls. The rates are very good: € 0.01 cent per minute to landlines and € 0.10 per minute to cell numbers; the service does not include a connection fee and we can top up the credit with the most common payment methods.

Should I still use these VoIP services to call from the computer?
