Which smartphones are resistant to water and dust or divers

When talking about water-resistant or even underwater phones it is important to understand how waterproof they are, if they are only resistant to splashing water or if they can also be immersed in the sea without problems. The waterproof classification of each electronic device such as watches or smartphones is based on the IP standard, which stands for Ingress Protection. IPXX ratings, which can be read in detail on Wikipedia, are of two types: solid / powder and liquid. Therefore, when you see the IP 68 number, the first number is relative to the resistance against dust, while the second is the one that determines the resistance to water. Dust resistance values range from 0 to 6, with 6 meaning completely sealed even by fine dust.
The classification relating to water resistance, on the other hand, ranges from 0 to 9, with the 4 indicating splash resistance, the 7 indicating the possibility of being immersed in water at most one meter deep and for no more than 30 minutes, the value 8 indicates a meter underwater without time limits and 9 which means diver.
For example:
IP6X = means smartphone completely sealed against dust (6), not tested against water (X)
IPX6 = not tested against dust (X), can be sprayed with water in the shower or in the rain. Usually this category is described with the term " water resistant ".
IP68 = completely sealed against dust, even in sandstorms (6), can be immersed in a meter of water without problems (8)
IP67 = Resists dust, and resistant to shower water or small dives. A liquid level (IPx7) of level 7 indicates that the device will not be damaged if immersed in water up to a meter deep. A smartphone with level 7 of water resistance can then fall into the sink or bathtub without breaking, unless it spends half an hour or more time. Starting at level 7 a phone can be described as waterproof, although it is important to distinguish from level 7 to level 8.
Most electronic devices have at least a level 5 with regards to dust, which is usually not something to worry about. Different is the matter of water resistance, both because the differences between the various values are very nuanced, and because however, speaking of cell phones, there are few models that can fall into the water or receive splashes without problems. Furthermore, it must be considered that just because a device can be immersed does not mean that it resists shower sprays. There are in fact cases of double evaluation, for example IPX6 / IPX8, to say that that device resists both sprayed water and diving up to one meter.
