Yahoo has released an official blog post informing users that its Yahoo Mail email service has been hacked to gain unauthorized access to Yahoo Mail user accounts. In cases like these, for hacked accounts, Yahoo resets passwords and sends a message to reset access.
To avoid any risk, although this attack probably does not concern Yahoo.it accounts, it is important to remind us to be careful not to get your email account stolen and to make it safe if we have not already done so.
As already done to protect access in Gmail, we see here how to secure Yahoo Mail and prevent any possible hacker attack from causing the loss of the account .
The password is the most important thing to check, if it is weak, they can be easily understood and, through repeated tests quickly, tracked down.
Weak means in this case that it has few characters, which includes a dictionary word or proper names and does not use which has a low character count, can include a dictionary word or names, and does not follow general password security advice .
You can change your Yahoo Mail password by going to Settings -> Accounts -> Change password .
Having ways to reset your password in case it is forgotten or if it is stolen by someone is essential.
Then, from the Yahoo Mail settings, press the " Change your account settings " link.
From the page that opens, go below and click where it is written: Update the password reset information to provide an alternate email address and personal mobile number.

Even if a hacker or a thief manages to obtain the password for the account, access will be allowed only if this also had our mobile phone in hand and therefore managed to know the second verification code.
The verification code is requested by Yahoo every time there is an attempt to access from a device or from an unusual or never used position before.
The two-step verification also involves the creation of a special password to be used on applications connected to Yahoo, where double verification cannot work.
With these precautions, Yahoo Mail should be really difficult to puncture and protection is guaranteed.
