If Start Menu, Edge and Cortana don't work in Windows 10, how to fix it

Windows 10 sometimes makes some strange jokes on our computer.
When I turned on the computer yesterday, I noticed a certain slowness in loading Windows after entering the user's login password.
When the desktop appeared and everything was loaded, the Start menu no longer worked and a click on the button almost blocked the entire system.
In addition to this, the Microsoft Edge browser icon had disappeared leaving an empty space on the taskbar, the search for files and Cortana did not work, nor could I open the PC Settings .
Fortunately, everything else, i.e. the programs installed and the icons on the desktop, worked correctly and I was therefore able to make all the checks to resolve the error .
First of all, I used the guide to check and remove malware and viruses that could be responsible for the problem using, as explained several times, the pair of rKill and MalwareBytes programs.
Having found no virus, I followed the basic manual of the good Windows system administrator looking for errors in the event viewer .
In the Event Viewer, in the Windows Logs -> Application section, there were numerous errors with an ESENT origin, including one that told me that the file C: \ Users \ username-AppData \ Local \ TileDataLayer \ Database \ EDB .log was damaged.

I don't know how frequent this error can be, but since it happened to me, let's see how to solve the Windows 10 problem if the Start menu, the search, Cortana, Edge and other applications no longer work by following the following procedure.
1) From Windows, press the Windows-X keys together and, in the menu that appears, open the Command Prompt as administrator .
then run the following commands in this order, pressing enter after each of them.
net user "Temp1" "password1" / add
net user "Temp2" "password2" / add
net localgroup administrators "Temp2" / add
We created two new user accounts, named Temp1 and Temp2, and assigned the administrator role to Temp2 .
2) Now press the CTRL + ALT + Del keys together and click on " Disconnect ".
3) Enter Windows using Temp1 account now using password, password1 .
Once the loading is finished and the desktop appears, noting that everything works correctly including the Start menu and the search, exit the account as done in point 2, using the " Disconnect ".
4) Now log into Windows with the Temp2 account whose login password is password2
Now open a Windows Explorer folder, go to the top menu View and, on the right, select the " hidden items " option.
Now open the following folder C: \ Users \ Temp1 \ AppData \ Local \ TileDataLayer (click Continue when authorization is requested).
Right click on the " Database " folder and click Copy .
Now open the same folder, this time of our original user profile, that is C: \ Users \ username-AppData \ Local \ TileDataLayer
Right click on Database and rename this folder in Database.old .
Without moving from this position, press the right mouse button on the empty folder and then click on Paste .
We then took the Database folder of the new profile copying it to the original one, renaming the Database folder where there are damaged files.
5) Restart the computer, log in with your original account and everything should go back in order.
The Start menu should now work well as well as search, Cortana, Edge and Settings.
6) Delete the Temp1 and Temp2 user accounts from the Control Panel, in the User Accounts section.
This procedure can be used to solve any problem involving the current Windows 10 user account, when basic Windows functions such as the Start Menu, the Store and apps like Edge no longer work.
