Show only unread messages in Gmail with quick link

Gmail is the most advanced and powerful Email service that you can find, full of even very advanced functions, not only for reading and sending mail.
However, if there is a criticism to be made to Gmail it is its somewhat sparse and unattractive interface, in which there are also some basic buttons that would be very welcome instead.
One thing that is missing is, for example, a button to display only unread received messages which is different from that of the Inbox which is instead the complete list of all received, read and unread emails.
Gmail allows you to assign labels to email messages to allow quick access to groups of messages of the same type.
For example, Facebook updates or commercial promotions can be grouped together, also using Gmail automatic filters.
Curiously, however, you cannot create a label / filter for unread messages, or at least you cannot in the canonical way.
Fortunately, Gmail has a way to insert quick links into the main interface, which is very useful for creating a clickable button and opening the list of unread messages .
To see only the unread emails in Gmail there would be a button, and it is the selection box at the top right, next to the Archive button.
However, this is only a way to select unread messages, then perhaps mark them as already read or to delete them.
The real list of unread emails is obtained by typing the query: is: unread in: inbox on the search box
Pressing enter gives the complete list of messages still to be read .
The page links //mail.google.com/mail/u/0/?tab=mm#search/is%3Aunread+in%3Ainbox
To create a quick link to this list of unread emails in order to open it whenever you want without having to write the formula in the search box, you need to activate the quick links function in Gmail.
Then go to Settings and then to Labs, search for Quick Links, activate it, scroll down the page and Save the change.
Gmail reloads and, at the bottom left, almost invisible, you should notice a button with three dots next to the Hangouts icon (the chat).
Press the button with the three dots to view the quick links.
Open now the search is: unread in: inbox and click on Add Quick Link on the left column, give it a name such as, for example, " Unread messages " and press OK.
