Playing with an interactive film: the plot changes according to the choices

I remember in the 80s the success of the game books which were fantasy or detective novels, where a piece of history was read and then a crossroads like: "if you run away, go to page 23, if you want to fight, go to page 287 " . So it happened that the story was made by the reader, with alternative endings and with a game component for which it was absolutely necessary to avoid dying. I don't think the game books are still on sale anyway, something similar can be done with an interactive film, where, after seeing a scene, the protagonist is told what to do during the plot of the film .
Although there are still a few interactive films, there are a few that you can watch and play, for free, online on the internet or on iPhone and Android smartphones . The viewer can decide the actions the protagonist must take to bring the story to a happy ending and not let him die. From the experience, I can assure you that it is really fun and pure entertainment, with an interactive video game based on the scenes of a truly immersive and well-made film.
Unfortunately there are no interactive games in Italian, at least for free, however, at least two of the three in English that I have found are absolutely understandable and fun even if you don't understand a word because they are action films.
1) Possibilia is an interactive love story set in the multiverse where a young couple is thinking of separating. The film is super interactive with a script that changes up to 16 times. After each scene you can press on the keyboard to choose the path to the right or left and change the story.
2) Five Minutes is set in a zombie apocalypse, really fun. The film opens with a man with a gun on his head, his daughter in the next room and a group of zombies trying to break through the door. The name of the film comes from how long it takes someone to become a zombie after being infected. Any action can cause death or lead to prolonged adventure.
3) Chatterbox Escape The Asylum is another interactive film from the Eko.com site, which puts us in the shoes of a man in an asylum. We will hear the voices in his head that push him towards different directions that we will choose. The driving force behind the story is man's desire to escape the asylum, facing other inmates and his sanity.
4) Solace is an interactive animated film, with a voiceover and two friends talking to each other about a fruit drink that is addictive to their childhood. It is set in the near future and concerns the connection between marketing and addiction. The narrative is represented by abstract forms of color that go around the screen, with which you can interact - by hitting, pushing, jumping and more. Very original as a game.
5) Dead Lonely is a nice interactive animated film where a man named Fred is looking for his lost love in a post-apocalyptic world. You have to choose between different ways of dealing with the plot, so as not to die and get to the end of the film.
6) The Outbreak (flash site) is a horror movie of zombies whose plot, even if in English, is well understood and the dialogues between the characters are easily understood. The viewer is responsible for the survival of the protagonist and must make careful choices to avoid seeing him killed and eaten by zombies. For those who, when they see a horror movie, think things like: "Why do you go into the dark room instead of running away"> Look behind you! ", and" run faster, you idiot! ", this is probably the ideal film. The operation of this interactive film is very simple: you look at a scene and then choose between two options, such as, for example, whether to go to the cellar or the courtyard or to save the others or leave them to the their fate. If you make a series of wrong choices, the film ends with the sad death of the protagonist but it is not necessary to start over, just take a chapter of your choice. The story is not very long and not even complex but the film is made well and zombies are always scary!
7) Bank Run (flash site) is another interactive movie to watch for free on the internet, shot by Outbreak themselves. This time the story is set in a bank and the protagonist finds himself involved in a conspiracy and must survive. At the end of each scene, you have to choose between two options for how to proceed. In this film, however, the story does not change, the choices are a little more limited in the sense that either you continue or you die, so if you are wrong, just go back and choose the other way. Bank Run, however, is fun because, during the film, you must also play with the keyboard, pressing the keys that are indicated on the screen, for example, to dodge a shot or to escape.
8) Real interactive movies can be watched and played on Netflix .
Among the best are Black Mirror: Bandersnatch and then also Minecraft: Story Mode, Puss in Boots and Survival School with Bear Grylls, all available on Italian Netflix. The peculiarity of these interactive films is the choice between different paths to take by changing the plot, leading the protagonist to complete his adventure or ending the story with a bad ending.
9) On Youtube there are several games with interactive multiple choice videos (see also Youtube videos to play) including Deliver me to hell which offers several three-minute clips, at the end of which you have to decide what to do to continue.
The film is once again about Zombie and you have to save your skin.

10) Romero's night of the living dead is an interactive movie on YouTube, with 1 minute scenes, at the end of which you have to make a choice that will change the plot, for better or for worse.
11) In TrendMicro's interactive film, you play as our company's head of cyber security by facing attacks aimed at stealing or compromising sensitive information.
Too bad that there are no free interactive films in Italian anyway if you know others, let people know.
