Is that site offline and unreachable for everyone or are there connection problems?

When you visit a website, you connect, using a browser such as Internet Explorer or Firefox, to a computer where the website's web pages are located. When writing the internet address like www.navigaweb.net, a connection is opened on a server that responds by opening the site if it exists. In the event that it does not exist, by writing, for example, www.navigarweb.net, the browser will show a page indicating " impossible to find the site " or " unable to contact the server ". However, since all the sites, including Google and Facebook, are based on software and services, it can happen that they go haywire and that they are offline and can no longer be reached temporarily. So it happens that the address of a site that until a day ago or an hour ago worked, disappears and no longer opens.
The question anyone asks at this point is: is this site offline for everyone or is there something wrong with my computer and my internet connection "> Down For Everyone or Just Me which presents an essential and simple page where you need to write the address of the offending site and then click on " Just For Me ".
The answer will tell if the site is UP and therefore it is not reachable only for me or if it is Down for everyone.
An identical site but without advertising (at least for now) is IS it UP which works identically to check if a site is online or not for everyone.
Another site is 24x7 which checks the availability of a website and checks if it is reachable from other countries such as China or from a continent.
There are now distinctions to be made.
In fact, some websites may receive censorship and be blocked at the DNS level. From Italy, for example, you can try to navigate on a site like thepiratebay.org without success even if, according to Down For Everyone or just for me, it is UP and online.
It means that in Italy Piratebay has been blocked (for copyright infringements) and cannot be visited. To enter locally blocked sites, reported as online, you can simply use a proxy to visit blocked sites.
Other sites may have expired, in the sense that the operator has not renewed the subscription to keep that site online or has abandoned and closed it . In these cases the Down for everyone tool still reports the site online even if there is not what one would expect. The browser can display a page, often written in English, with many advertising links in the center and on the right or at the top, the notice that the domain is for sale by its owner or that the site is under construction.
If, on the other hand, it happens that a website is not accessible only to me, it is accessible to others and does not depend at all on problems of blocking or regional prohibitions, then there is a problem on the computer that can be more or less serious. It could happen that the computer used to surf the internet was hit by a virus that redirects connections. The virus may have secretly set up a proxy so that only the sites the person who created it wants can be seen from that computer.
In particular, there may be three types of problems :
1) The hosts file ( C: \ Windows \ System32 \ drivers \ etc \ hosts ), which can be opened with the notebook, has been compromised.
2) There is a proxy in Internet Explorer visible from the tools menu, options, connections tab, LAN settings.
3) The DNS parameters have been changed, those responsible for the correct addressing on websites, making sure that, by writing goole.com, you go to Google and not to another.
In all these cases I can certainly suggest an automatic solution using two types of tools:
1) Spybot to check for malware and to check and immunize the hosts file.
2) The other to repair the internet connection and restore the network in one click.
Those who cannot navigate freely from their office or in the company, can only try the solutions to surf anonymously.
