Turn off the screen with double tap on Android

Some Android smartphones such as LG G2 and G3 or ZenFone2 have a very useful feature that allows you to turn the screen on and off with a double touch.
You can practically turn off the phone screen without having to press the power button, just with a comfortable double touch with your finger .
Just as quickly you can turn the screen back on, always double-tapping.
This feature is all hardware and linked only to the phone models that support it, impossible to replicate on other Android phones, unless an intelligent compromise is accepted.
The clever DTSO application ( Double Tap Screen On Off ), free, enables the double touch to turn off and on the screen on all Android smartphones with a trick.
Basically it is a transparent and invisible widget to be placed somewhere on the main screen which, if touched twice, turns off the screen immediately, without having to press the power button.
Obviously you will not be able to do the same to turn the screen back on, but you can enable the proximity sensor in order to illuminate the mobile phone when in use.
The app (which for some errors on my phone is installed with the name FreshdeskSDK), has several configuration options grouped into two categories, one for switching off, the other for switching on.
Regarding the "sleep" of the phone, you can:
- activate the widget to double-tap to turn off the screen, with options for the number of touches.
This is then added as a widget on the screen and can occupy a box on the screen.
The DTSO widget can be enlarged, if you use a launcher that supports the resizing of the widget, so as to take up more space and be able to take advantage of the double touch more easily.
The important thing is to remember where it is in order to be able to touch it twice whenever you want.
- enable a mobile widget, that is a button that can be moved wherever you want and always in the foreground.
- lock by proximity sensor which is useful to turn off the screen if you use a case with flap or flip.
To turn the screen back on, for now, there is only the proximity sensor option, just touch.
You can also activate Flip mode in the options if you use a screen protector.
Keep in mind that the proximity sensor is at the top of the smartphone, which is used to turn off the screen when you put the phone in your ear.
The screen restart feature, in my case, has some bugs and I had to disable it.
