When you own an iPhone or any modern Android smartphone, there is no need to store all your business cards in a drawer or document holder. Thanks to some simple applications, each business card can be scanned so that all the information it contains can be stored in an orderly and easy to find way.
The device's camera is used to take the photo of the ticket and then, thanks to a special application, the information contained is extracted and compiled onto the address book in a digital card, saving the effort of handwriting names, email addresses and telephone numbers. .
Among the solutions to choose from, there are three to try.
1) CamCard for iPhone and Android.
CamCard is a semi-free app with advertising that automates the process of scanning business cards as much as possible.
For example on iPhone the data extracted from the photograph of the ticket are saved in the address book without requiring other manual interventions.
Just align the edges of the card with the guidelines indicated on the screen and take the photo avoiding shadows or light strokes on the card.
The application is very fast, reads the data and collects the information in a contact card.
The photo of the business card is also saved so you can review it in case of need.
On Android the app is the same with an additional focus function.
As reported in the past, CamCard is also the app to create digital business cards that can be shared via the application wirelessly or via email.
2) ScanBizCards Lite for iPhone and Android is similar and alternative to CamCard, which works similarly with the difference that ScanBizCards is not automatic.
Every action must be done manually and needs to be authorized.
Having more control can be an advantage even if you sacrifice the speed of capturing and saving the new contact in the address book.
The lite version is good for trying the application for free, but it has limits that are worth overcoming, if you like, by purchasing the full app.
Each of the above applications worked very well in my test and makes storing business cards really modern and simple.
