The recent study by a monitoring company, Royal Pingdom, has published some updated statistics on the World Wide Web . Among the most interesting numbers we can read that over one billion people are registered with Facebook today, 200 million are on Twitter, more than 2 billion people who have an email address (with 420 million on Gmail, the mail service most used electronics in the world) and that there were 1200 billion searches on Google in 2012.
Furthermore, there are 634 million websites (with an annual growth of 51 million) and, in 2012 alone, 246 million domain name registrations.
In 2012 there were 2.7 billion likes on Facebook every day, 175 million tweets posted on Twitter every day, while Google's +1 button was used 5 billion times a day.
There are also 1.3 billion smartphones in use around the world, over 4 billion hours of YouTube videos were watched every month and 7 petabytes of Facebook photos were uploaded every month.

Every day, every person visits their favorite sites, uses the internet to read online newspapers, to play games, read the mail or share photos.
But beyond the news and the most particular and beautiful sites that we like to report on these pages, among the millions of websites and if we exclude the Chinese and the Russian ones, what are the most important websites in the world "> the sites most visited on the internet).
Obviously, Navigaweb.net, the most important blog in Italy for the IT world, cannot be missing from this list; but this is only my interested personal judgment.
