Birthdays on Facebook: automatic greetings, notices and thanks

It is now tradition to receive, on the day of one's birthday, a disproportionate amount of good wishes from all friends and also from people who do not know each other.
Incredible but true also people who have never been seen or who have not heard and seen for years start making happy birthday wishes.
This may or may not be pleasing, but it would also be polite to reciprocate these wishes or to thank those who make them .
However, it is impossible to answer everyone, especially if you have many friends and you receive hundreds of happy birthday messages.
In general, therefore, at the end of the day, you leave a global message on your profile to thank everyone.
But if you want to respond individually, there is a setting that can come in handy, to receive the notification on Chrome or Firefox when it is someone's birthday, so as not to miss the opportunity to make the best wishes.
From the Facebook homepage, go to the main menu by pressing the arrow button at the top right and then open the settings.
Go to the Notifications section to be able to activate notifications to be received through Computers and mobile devices .
Next, choose notifications for birthdays so that a friend's birthday notice will appear on Chrome.
In the past it was also possible to use an app to send a personalized reply message to all those who wished their birthday, it was Say Thank You, very convenient and automatic.
Someone might wonder if it is also possible to send greetings automatically to every friend who turns years old, on his birthday .
Personally I think it is really a bad thing, Facebook can already be impersonal, then if the greetings are also automatic it goes from bad to worse.
However, something exists even if it is not perfect.
The BirthdayFB application allows you to send greetings to all friends who are turning years old, every day, always leaving the same personalized message.
This app has two problems: the first is that it sends an email to remember birthdays every day.
The second problem is that the greeting message will come from FBBirthday and there is a risk of making a bad impression if the friend goes to investigate the operation of the application.
Also, in my test, it didn't work properly.
Another application to send greetings is a Chrome extension called " Happy Birthday " to have alerts or reminders and send nice greetings.
To receive the birthday notification via Email or via mobile phone, the best and regular solution is to import all the birthdays into Google Calendar and thus receive notifications via email.
To do this, enter your Facebook home, click on Events in the left column and then, from the drop-down menu at the top (by clicking on the down arrow), select " birthdays ".
Then, always from the same drop-down menu, click on Export birthdays and make a copy of the link provided.
Then open Google Calendar and click, from the right menu, on the down arrow, next to " Other calendars ".
Select " Add URL " and paste the address provided by Facebook that begins with Webcal:.
All birthdays are listed in the Google calendar.
By clicking on the down arrow next to the new Facebook birthday calendar, you can configure the automatic notification that can arrive both via Email and on your mobile phone as an SMS .
SMS notification works, as written some time ago in the guide to receive free SMS with Google Calendar.
The notification can also be received a few days before the event depending on your preferences.
The birthday calendar from Facebook can also be imported into Microsoft Outlook, WebCal or other applications and programs that accept the Facebook link.
I conclude with an appeal: do not install the "My Calendar - Birthdays" application because it is useless since it is a function already integrated in Facebook!
